Grey's Anatomy Round Table: "State of Love and Trust"

at .

Welcome to the latest edition of The Grey's Anatomy Round Table!

We've already reviewed this week's episode, "State of Love and Trust," and encourage fans to check it out.

But one analysis is never enough. A trio of TV Fanatic staff members has gathered again and we're excited to analyze an installment that dealt with issues such as Derek's first day as Chief and Mark's non-stop hilarity. As always, feel free to chime in with your thoughts on these topics...

1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode?

M.L. House: "Trust is hard for surgeons. We're trained from day one to believe that the only person we can trust is ourselves." It was my favorite because it made the least sense: surgeons are trained not to trust anyone else? What about scrubs nurses, residents, fellow doctors, physician assistants... one could argue there's more trust needed across the medical profession than anywhere else! Easy on the overly profound voiceovers, Grey's!

Mrs. Northman: Lexie: Mark was really awesome at leaving you with good sex injuries. Cristina: Please don't cry on my ass.
P.S. Lexie and Mark have to get back together!

iheartizzie: "Don't let the roller skates fool you. Peds is nothing but hardcore." It didn't seem noteworthy at the time, but had me laughing in the end when Arizona actually skated away from Karev after giving him an intense speech.

2. Do you feel bad for the Chief?

M.L. House: Not really. I want him to get help personally, no doubt. But there's no professional argument to be made for him remaining in his job. Derek did nothing wrong, and everything right.

Mrs. Northman: Of course! He knew Derek was gunning for the job and admitting he has an addiction is a real blow to his ego and reputation.

iheartizzie: I feel confused about the Chief. Why is drinking all he has to hold on to? Is he with Adele again? I'm actually asking for real because the show has never handled that relationship in a consistent manner. They are together... right?

3. More unlikely development: Arizona serving as Alex's mentor, or Cristina choosing sex over surgery?

M.L. House: Cristina's decision was surprising, but Sandra Oh's incredible performance was certainly not. What a powerful, emotional speech she gave at the end. I smell Emmy!

Mrs. Northman: Cristina choosing sex over surgery! Hello! What's going on with her lately - one minute she gives Owen up in a split second, the next she's not answering her pager?! Crazy lady!

iheartizzie: Have you seen Owen?!? Cristina's choice was to be expected. But this was a great showcase for the burgeoning relationship - professional relationship, that is! - between Arizona and Alex; or, as I call them: The A Team!

4. Is there a romantic future for Bailey and the Gas Man?

M.L. House: Yes, of course. Do you even read this site's Grey's Anatomy spoilers section, Round Table question maker?!?

Mrs. Northman: Looks like it! He's pretty hot, too! Go Bailey!!!

iheartizzie: There sure looks to be. I just hope the new doctor is ready to take orders in bed. They don't call her the Nazi for nothing!

5. Funniest Mark scene: Shooting baskets with Owen and Derek, yelling over his ruined skin graft, or lying in bed with Callie and Arizona?

M.L. House: The scene in Derek's new office was classic mark. He went right for the chief's chair and then casually remarked on Cristina's near-wedding to Burke, oblivious to Owen's reaction.

Mrs. Northman: Lying in bed with the lesbos! Loved every second of it! Too funny!

iheartizzie: The ruined skin graft, for one reason: as much as Mark is portrayed as a ladies' man and comic foil, he's actually an accomplished plastic surgeon. It's nice to be reminded of that sometimes.

Grey's Anatomy Season 6 Episode 13 Quotes

Burke was- He took something from me. He took little pieces of me, little pieces over time, so small I didn't even notice, you know? He wanted me to be something I wasn't, and I made myself into what he wanted. One day I was me Cristina Yang, and then suddenly I was lying for him, and jeopardizing my career, and agreeing to be married and wearing a ring, and being a bride. Until I was standing there in a wedding dress with no eyebrows, and I wasn't Cristina Yang anymore. And even then, I would've married him. I would have. I lost myself for a long time. And now that I'm finally me again, I can't. I love you. I love you more than I loved Burke. I love you. And that scares the crap out of me because when you asked me to ignore Teddy's page, you took a piece of me, and I let you. And that will never happen again.

[lying with Callie and Arizona] This isn't gonna work for me ...
