I think you're a candidate.

You might be surprised to learn who speaks these words on next week's new episode of Lost: Sideways Jack says them to Sideways Locke after the former saves the latter's life on the episode "The Candidate."

As far as season six of Lost is concerned, the C-word has nothing to do with cancer and everything to do with who might replace Jacob on the island. It's impossible to not perk up and theorize when you hear it tossed around in an exchange such as the one below:

Meanwhle, in a recent interview with Wired.com, series creator Damon Lindelof said:

"Right now, the characters are not aware that there’s any timeline other than the one they are in. But if they were to become aware of the parallel worlds, what might they do about it? That becomes a fundamental question."

With just five hours of the show remaining, this will will start to be answered in the very near future.
