White Collar Season Premiere Review: "Withdrawal"

at .

Last night marked the second season premiere of White Collar. And boy! Were we ever excited to see what transpired after the mind blowing (and plane blowing) first season finale!

"Withdrawal" showed us that after the plane blew up both Peter and Neal had to face the repercussions. Peter was in the hot seat at work, while Neal was back in jail.

As Edward Walker

I am happy to see that it worked out for Neal - that the conditions were the same as it was in the first season. But, I was a bit confused by just how easy it was to get him back on the force. From what the FBI knows Neal was running away. What happened to the saying, "Fool me once"? I wouldn't think the judge - or the FBI - would want him back on the team just two months after it all transpired. Don't get me wrong, I know how important Neal's knowledge it to cracking cases, plus, what show would we have with our main character behind bars?

Anyway, it was refreshing to see the all knowing (and resident hottie) Neal be stumped - even tricked by The Architect. Too bad the writers couldn't drag this storyline on for another episode - I thought The Architect was a perfect villain for Neal.

So now let's get to the meat of the episode. Kate - the bomb - the music box.

For whatever reason - my gut is telling me Kate is not dead. Somehow she got off the plane and my guess would be Fowler helped her. But, why pretend to be dead? What do you think Kate is running from?

It was great that we found out Neal's true intentions. He didn't want to live the life of a robber any longer and was just tired of running. If he didn't have that second thought, he would be dead. But, why would anyone want him dead? That person really did go to extreme measures to kill him.

The music box made a cameo at the end and was it ever shocking to see who is safekeeping it! Since Diana's role last season was minimal, we really don't know too much about her. How in the world do you think she is tied into all of this?

Chat Over Wine

Without Mozzie, I don't think this week's episode would have been at all humorous. The scene where he is meeting up with Peter to give/get the scoop on Neal was brilliant. Mozzie lights up the room with a lovable, yet extremely bizzarre character that always puts a smile on my face.

Elizabeth was almost forgettable. It makes me sad because I do believe the writers can do a lot with her character. Hopefully, as the season progresses, we will get a deeper look into the woman behind the man.

Until next week, follow the jump to read a few of our favorite White Collar quotes and don't forget to leave your thoughts below!

Peter: I don't know. Doesn't matter.
