Family Guy Review: "Welcome Back Carter"

at .

After this season started with two "special" episodes, this week's installment was the first episode of the season we'd consider just a normal episode of Family Guy.  This week's misadventure?  Peter walked in on his father-in-law having an affair.

"Welcome Back Carter" started off strong from there with the guys convincing Peter to use his knowledge to blackmail Carter.  There was some hilarious limousine jousting and catch phrases, before Peter accidentally let the a-bomb drop.

From there, the jokes quickly dropped off, save for some hilarious, racists moments by Carter as he attempted to pick up women as a bachelor.  Attempting to give Babs some strength, she didn't just take back Carter after his infidelity without some begging.

However, w we wouldn't be shocked if they're just together next time we see them with no mention of this ever again.  There goes some potential character development.

Also back this week were the cutaway gags and there were plenty, including a pretty funny jab at Jonathan Lipnicki.  We've never been a huge fan of the cutaways, and will always prefer the in-show jokes.  Now for our favorite Family Guy quotes from the episode:

Peter: Hey Babs, settle something for us. I wanted to bring an owl, but Lois wouldn't me. Could you accommodate an owl?
Babs: I suppose there's some room in the owlery, but I can't be certain. | permalink
Carter: Now let's kiss while the camera pans over to the drapes. | permalink
Peter: Take it up with my butt, he's the only one that gives a crap. | permalink
