Parenthood Review: "The Booth Job"

at .

One of my favorite aspects of Parenthood is the inter-dynamics that take place within each couple. This was highlighted last night.

"The Booth Job" had some seriously great scenes, but before we get to those, let's go over these aforementioned relationships.

Love Interests
  • Zeek and Camille are still in the process of trying to get back to where they once were. Somehow after all the years and raising so many children, they lost each other. I really thought that Camille would have radiated on the dance floor, but alas, it was Zeek who took home the trophy. This was unexpected, yet surprisingly wonderful to see.
  • Joel and Julia always seem to hit rough patches in the relationship. They are trying to deal with Sydney's need to sleep in the bed with them at night. I can fully understand each side. Julia just wants to spend that extra time with her daughter, while Joel feels like he's losing that intimate connection with his wife. It's hard to say who is right and wrong. What do you think?
  • Adam is having a hard time understanding why Kristina needs the Asperger's support group. This obviously upset Kristina because she would love to have her husband's support there. Finally, thanks to Zeek, Adam realizes the importance of this decision. It must be really hard to raise a child with a disorder, especially when you've never had to handle something like this in your life before. I think the support group will be very beneficial to Adam and I can't wait to see how this story develops.
  • I just wanted to get into my TV last night and slap Crosby on the side of his head for not proposing to Jasmine! These two really belong together and you can see that Jasmine wants it, too! For whatever reason, the scene at the end reminded me of The Little Mermaid when Eric hesitates to kiss the girl. Ugh! I'm just dying to see what happens next!

Poor Sarah, she's still the only leading Braverman that doesn't come in a pair. But it looks like luck may be on her side! When Gordon walked Sarah to her car and told her that she's not like any other woman he's ever met, I jumped on the bandwagon and became a fan of him! Really, what's not to like? Tall, dark, and handsome? Check. Great career? Check. Into her for more than a one-night stand? Hmm...tough call. I really do hope so!

Who knows? Maybe Gordon is the Prince Charming Sarah's been waiting for... or he could be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I was happy to see Amber finally get some common sense. Sure, it's all fun and games, but when you can't get into college because you failed to prepare, what else can you expect other than preparing to fail? I think this is just the beginning for Amber and really hope that she continues to put all her efforts into getting good grades and acing the SATs.

Probably my favorite scene from last night had to be Zeek and Tony dancing. It was pure comedy. Especially the scene when Zeek told Adam:

Adam: So what do you do, talk...share?
Zeek: The only thing I am doing is dancing with gay Tony. You gotta see this guy move Adam. He's like a finely tuned European sports car. Very sensitive and responds to the lightest touch. Honestly, it's amazing. | permalink

Until next week, enjoy a few of my favorite Parenthood quotes from last night:

Gordon: (to Sarah) You have no idea how great you are do you? | permalink
Gordon: We kicked the ass of the entire footwear industry.
Sarah: Yeah we did!
Gordon: Hold on a moment. I'd like to propose a toast to Sarah Braverman. The best booth job ever.
Sarah: Gosh. Thanks a lot.
Gordon: You give good booth. | permalink
Zeek: (to his dance partner, Tony) I want you to know that I'm okay with the gays. | permalink
Zeek: Hey Millie, I would love to dance with you. | permalink
Julia: I would say change your hat. Just sayin'.
Crosby: Oh my goodness. You don't like my duck hunting look! | permalink
Amber: Dude we're not gonna smoke weed during our tutoring session.
Amber's friend: What? It's organic. | permalink
