Some Grey's Anatomy fans (including those who run this site) have long debated the non-legal status of the Post-It and whether we can truly consider MerDer married.

While the point was never disputed - their love is forever, and all that truly matters, not a piece of paper - people referring to Mer as his "wife" and Mrs. Shepherd is odd.

Has Shonda Rhmes heeded these points and decided to make the marriage legal?

Rumors have again surfaced that Meredith and Derek will make their marriage official on Grey’s Anatomy later this season. On that topic, TV Line's Michael Ausiello says this:

"A lot of evidence suggesting it’s much more than just a rumor."

If he says so, that carries serious weight. How do you think it will be handled when and if this takes place? Courthouse ceremony? Lavish, decadent, extravagant wedding?

Okay, probably not the latter. But your theories and thoughts are welcomed!
