Tracy Morgan Signs on for FX Comedy Pilot

First, Billy Crystal. Now, Tracy Morgan.

FX confirms that the former 30 Rock star will headline a single-camera pilot on the network as it has given an order to Death Pact.

The series will feature Morgan as an ex-pot dealer/high school coach who returns to his hometown as a war hero. Look for the character to engage others in his new self-help philosophy, which includes sever consequences for failure.

“Needless to say anything starring Tracy Morgan could be off-the-charts hilarious and we’re betting this one is,” said FX’s Vice President of Original Programming Nick Grad. “Rob Long, Tad Safran, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum have delivered a terrific starring vehicle for Tracy. We look forward to casting the other three co-stars and getting started with production. This is going to be fun.”
