The new WGN America series Salem kicks off this Sunday, April 20.

In the first extended trailer released by the network, potential viewers get a good idea of what to expect from the drama, as we're taken back 17th century Massachusetts, to the town where the entire American witch lore began.

And these folks aren't fooling around.

If you enjoyed American Horror Story: Coven, this is a must-watch. Throw away everything you think know about the history of Salem and open your mind to new possibilities.

Starring TV Fanatic favorites such as Shane West (Nikita) and Seth Gabel (Fringe, Arrow), as well as Janet Montgomery (Human Target), Ashley Madekwe (Revenge) and Xander Berkeley (Nikita, Being Human) the series will examine how witches were real, but not the usual suspects.
