Once Upon a Time Season 4 Episode 11 Review: Shattered Sight

The Spell of Shattered Sight brought out the best and the worst of the residents of Storybrooke in Once Upon a Time Season 4 Episode 11.
The most entertaining were certainly some of the snarky one liners that emerged when everyone stopped being their best selves and started being their worstm but not everyone was affected. Elsa, Anna, Emma, Hook and Mr. Gold were all immune, which was a bit of a shame. I would have liked to have seen an evil Hook for just a minute.
Of course I'm not certain an evil Mr. Gold would have been any different.
It was far more fun watching those who were under the spell, as when Regina's first reaction upon the spell being cast and broken was the same. What am I wearing? As much as I've loved her road to redemption, I have missed the Evil Queen's over the top sense of fashion.
As David and Mary Margaret argued over everything from how they met to baby swaddling, the most interesting conversation was what Mary Margaret told Anna in this Once Upon a Time quote…
Mary Margaret: You know what, Swiss Miss? You do know me. I pick flowers. I talk to birds. I do all kinds of warm fuzzy things. You know what else? I kill. Yeah, that's right. Snow White's a murderer. I killed the Evil Queen's mommy and I said I was sorry and I didn't mean it.
Anna: That's horrible.
Mary Margaret: Still want to hold hands, sing Zip-a-Dee-Do-Dah?
It was the, "I said I was sorry and I didn't mean it," part that struck me. Was that just the curse talking or is it that black mark on her heart?
But as a mother, my favorite line of the night was this…
You think the spell has made me angry? Do not wake my baby!

Don't mess with a sleep deprived mom, especially one wielding a sword.
Hook was caught in the middle once again and I kept waiting for Emma to realize he wasn't under the spell but they never did cross paths.
The flashbacks to Ingrid and Emma throughout the years were only mildly interesting. They were basically a set up for the end as Ingrid finally learned that her sister regretted putting her in the urn.
It was a heartbreaking moment when it turned out that the Snow Queen's happy ending turned out to be sacrificing herself to break the spell. Hopefully finally being with her sisters truly turns out the be what she'd longed for all along.
With one more episode left before the winter hiatus, it appears that Elsa and Anna will head back to the world of Frozen and Mr. Gold will continue with his plan to rid himself of the dagger and scurry away with Belle and Henry. We can only imagine the myriad of ways that plan can go wrong.
