Scorpion Season 1 Episode 15 Review: Forget Me Nots

at .  Updated at .

Walter actually opens up and shares his feelings! I know, it's shocking.

In Scorpion Season 1 Episode 15, Drew brings up moving to Portland again, this time by showing Paige a pamphlet for a school that would actually be great for Ralph. This was a good card for Drew to play. He is showing he wants what's best for Ralph. Right now, Ralph isn't in a special school, and maybe his school experience would be better if Ralph was. Do you think Ralph would be better off in Portland?

Walter's first run at why Paige shouldn't move to Portland goes as expected – horribly. He is rude and insulting, and rejects every reason that Paige shares about why she might move to Portland. It would have felt really weird if Walter had a decent reaction. He has made great progress, but he is still Walter O'Brien.

The conversation at the end between Walter and Paige is amazing. Walter is open and emotional. While Scorpion Season 1 Episode 14 featured a more romantic Walter and Paige, this episode features Walter sharing a different part of his heart. It's all about how much Ralph has changed his life, and how Walter has improved because of Ralph. While Paige helped, Walter attributes most of his change to Ralph.

The show has made a big deal about Ralph's importance, but sometimes it just feels like words. There often isn't any follow through or Ralph is barely around. Walter's speech at the end is a step in the right direction. He voices how much Ralph has helped him. It's not someone else commenting on how Ralph has helped Walter. This is Walter acknowledging it.

I care about Ralph. You were right I don't, I never had a real relationship with my father, and I know I'm not Ralph's, but I must serve a purpose in his life because he's such an important one in mine, and if he left, then uh... I know I said being human isn't something I wanted, but since I met your son, I know that's not entirely true. These last few months have been...less me, and that's made me a better person. So no, I don't want him to leave. I care about him and you.

Walter

Now all that is needed is for other team members to have this connection with Ralph. There was a brief moment between Toby and Ralph in Scorpion Season 1 Episode 14 episode, but other than that, Ralph hasn't spent a lot of time with anyone other than Walter. Cabe would be a great person for Ralph to hang out with, or another chat between Ralph and Happy. Who would you like to see Ralph hang out with?

Happy and Paige are partners in this episode, and it is fabulous. They are such fun to watch. Plus, Paige gets to experience Happy's driving. Typically Team Scorpion travels in a pack, or Paige is paired up with Walter. While there are some great scenes with everyone together, one on one allows for a better exploration of the character dynamics. This was just Paige and Happy having to rely on each other to find Bruce. Who would you love to see partnered up next?

The highlight of the case is Cabe getting his brain juiced. He is energetic and amazed by the colors. It would have been fun to continue this a little bit longer, have him want to do something he hasn't been able to do since he was young or something. The way Walter talked about supercharging someone's brain made it seem as if it would raise a normal person to genius level. This doesn't happen. Now it could just be the fault of how Walter describes, but it is built up to be more than what actually happens. Cabe tackling the blue fingered guy to the ground though is still really cool.

Agent Gallo Homeland security. Let this man hold your hand.

Cabe

As far as the rest of the case goes, it is alright. The beginning is amusing when Walter de-classifies everything that Homeland tried to keep from the team. It's a little confusing as to why no one is actively trying to stop or stall the hack, but it is nice to have a case that depends on the team interacting with people a bit more than normal.

Instead of relying on computers, the team needs Bruce. If they can't get him to remember, then the case is lost. The fact that Happy has to play nice with him when he is being a jerk is fantastic. Happy isn't exactly a people person. What did you enjoy most about the case?
