Nina Dobrev Bids Farewell to Paul Wesley: See the Sweet Photo

Nina Dobrev just made us cry all over again.

The actress, who stunned Vampire Diaries fans last week upon announcing her pending departure from the series, shared a sentimental photo on Instagram last night in honor of a sad occasion:

Her final scene with Paul Wesley.

Tribute to Paul Wesley

"Just finished filming my last Stefan and Elena scene with the amazing @paulvedere /@paulwesley #Stelena #TVDFamily," Dobrev wrote as a caption to the above image.

The 26-year old actress, of course, shocked the television universe this month when confirming she would not return following The Vampire Diaries Season 6.

Dobrev said she never planned on continuing as Elena beyond this year, writing in part on Instagram:

"Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I'll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever."

The question now turns to just how Dobrev will be written out.

Would the series actually kill her off? The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 18, airing this Thursday, may start to answer that topic.

Vampire Diaries Quotes

Dear Diary, a chipmunk asked me my name today. I told him it was Joe. That lie, will haunt me, forever.

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
