Hawaii Five-0 Season 6 Episode 1 Review: Do Not Disturb

at .  Updated at .

Steve, Danny, Kono, Chin, Grover and even Jerry are all back in action. And someone is dead. At long last we have Hawaii Five-0 Season 6 Episode 1.

Hawaii Five-0 Season 5 ended with Kono barely making it in time to her wedding. Then the episode just ended with out resolution. It was extremely disappointing, but thankfully we were treated to a little bit of the wedding reception in the premiere.

Catherine returned in the season finale, and she and Steve had quite the hot kiss on the dance floor and it is great to see Steve happy and smiling again. The entire gang dancing to "We Are Family" was a great scene. It's that kind of scene that just gives me the warm fuzzies, you know?

The pirate scenes in the beginning and the music made me think of the Johnny Depp pirate movies. I think the music was trying to sound "piratey" like the movies, but it didn't do a great job. It was okay, if just a little cheesy.

Jerry: Beta had better picture, better sound. But, for some reason the format never caught on with the general public.
Danny: Is that a conspiracy, too?
Jerry: No. Just a basic format war. Not everything's a conspiracy.
Danny: I like you. Why is he here?

As is his way, Jerry saved the day. His comments about the VHS and Betamax were a hoot. Anyone who knows anything knows Beta was superior, but like he said, for some reason the Betamax didn't catch on. Of course now both are dead, so it's a moot point.

In the cave, I could have done without the centipede crawling out of the skull eye socket, just a side note. Sometimes things are taken just a little too far and they make my skin crawl! Maybe that was for the male viewers or bug lovers.

When they figured out the whole pirate treasure deal was a hoax, it felt like a rip off to the team and to me as a viewer, too. All their hard work and all they have to show for it is some silverware and candlesticks. That's just not right. There should've been gold in that there box!

Kono and Adam were happily enjoying the morning after their wedding and the doorbell rings. Not a good sign. After Chin's wife was murdered, do we really want to see Kono made a widow the day after her wedding?  Let's hope the season is about the team trying to track down Gabriel and get the money back to save Kono and Adam.

The best part of this episode was, as always, Jerry. He brings a colorful way of looking at things that the team members don't seem to have. And he's usually spot on with his knowledge. The car ride bickering between Danny and Steve is a fan favorite and we got to see some fun with that. Steve and Danny are a great team even when they seem to not be able to stand each other.

Steve: Listen, I appreciate your advice. I know you're trying to do me a favor, but could you please, please just stop talking. That's all.
Danny: If you want to be alone, you want to be miserable for the rest of your life, don't listen to me.
Steve: You are alone and you are always miserable, and that is exactly why I'm not listening to you, okay?

If you're new to watching Hawaii Five-O, it's a good quality show. Don't miss the next episode, let's hope Adam survives!! Don't forget you can watch Hawaii Five-0 online.

What did you think of this episode? Do you think this season will be about trying to find Gabriel in order to save Kono and Adam? Will Adam survive? Will Steve pop the question to Catherine?

Hawaii Five-0 Season 6 Episode 1 Quotes

That is a box for a Betmax tape not VHS. VHS was actually 8% larger than Betas. Incidentally, they were inferior in every way.
