Scorpion Season 2 Episode 8 Review: Area 51

at .  Updated at .

I wonder if Toby made a prediction about Megan or Walter's drive to find a solution for her situation.

On Scorpion Season 2 Episode 8, Megan took a turn for the worse. As soon as it was revealed that she had MS, it was pretty clear that eventually we were going to be in this situation where she's getting worse and Team Scorpion (mainly Walter) have to face that fact.

I'm just super impressed by how Megan stood her ground against Sylvester and her brother's wishes. She's a fighter. It looks like Sylvester borrowed some of her strength because he stood up to Walter at the end. We're gearing up towards a Walter and Sylvester showdown, and I'm not ready to watch everyone take sides.

We have spent a lot of time being told how different Team Scorpion is from the rest of the world - how they aren't normal. Sure, sometimes we catch glimpses of this in how they interact with people, but we really saw how different they are in the way they react to Megan's condition.

They basically don't react. Happy tried not to think about it. Toby went straight to medicine and how everything was a biological. And Walter? Walter kicked his crazy plan to download Megan's brain, memories, and consciousness into a computer/device that hasn't been invented yet.

Everyone copes with death differently, and there really isn't a right way to do so. I like that when Paige told him that he wasn't really aware of what was going on, Walter dialed up Toby and had him explain what was happening with Megan medically.

Walter may not be dealing with this in the best way, but you can't say that he is ignoring the situation. He knows what's going on, but he just isn't willing to accept death as an option. But who is?

If you've got something to say to Megan, you should say it. Spend your time making memories. Don't bury yourself in solutions that may not work.

It was great that we didn't just focus on how Walter was reacting. Paige tried to get Happy and Toby to face what was really going on as well. What would be great is if Paige or Cabe organized some Team Scorpion shindig for Megan in her hospital room.

We don't really get to see anyone other than Sylvester and sometimes Walter interact with Megan. I'm sure Megan could use some cheering up, and who better to do that than Team Scorpion?

Okay, I can actually think of a couple dozen people, but you get my point.

The case of the week was alright. It was definitely not as crazy as some other week's, and it was nice not to have yet another over dramatic near death experience. Area 51 is a natural fit for a Team Scorpion case, and it lightened the mood. If it was too dramatic, then this hour would have been way too heavy. Instead, we had a fun case to balance out the seriousness of Megan's condition.

The end when everyone asks the CIA random conspiracy questions was just so Team Scorpion, and it amused me greatly. It made up for the fact that they didn't do any snooping around Area 51. I mean yeah they were throw in lockup and everything, but I expected more from them.

Sylvester was off on his own...again.

While his personal reasons for staying make sense, it still sucks because Sylvester isn't as entertaining on his own. There's no camaraderie. Sylvester just talks into a phone while typing on a computer. We didn't even get to spend more time with Megan during all of this. We could have just had her reactions in the background as she tries to make sense of what's going on by just hearing Sylvester's side of the conversation.

I will say, it was amusing hearing Sylvester talk to Walter about how the drone's cameras and microphone weren't working right after we just heard Walter's grand plan to blackmail the CIA agents.

Happy: Remember your disgusting habit?
Toby: Which one? I'm going to need you to elaborate.

Paige, Happy, and Toby were off on their own for a bit. It was so much fun to see the three of them working together, and, well, to see Paige try to get the two of them to take a breath and focus on the problem at hand.

Paige doesn't spend a whole lot of time with Happy and Toby, so there is still a lot to explore and play with when it comes to their dynamic. Paige's reaction to Toby handing her his prediction was hilarious. Let's have more of this please.
