The three Thursday Shonda Rhimes dramas currently airing on Thursday evenings as well as a Marvel favorite have been renewed for the 2016-17.

Thank GAWD!!!

That means How to Get Away with Murder is entering its 3rd season, Agents of SHIELD its 4th, Scandal its 5th and Grey's Anatomy will be going into an amazing 13th season. Whether the three Shondaland dramas will remain a successful trio on Thursday nights will be decided at a later date.

“We’re very proud of our strong roster of performers, and we’re excited about what they will bring us creatively next season,” said Channing Dungey, President, ABC Entertainment, after she spent a day handing our early renewals, something here predecessor, Paul Lee, had never done.

All together, the full roster of renewed series today includes America's Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Black-ish, Dancing With the Stars, Fresh Off the Boat, The Goldbergs, Grey's Anatomy, How to Get Away With Murder, Agents of SHIELD, The Middle, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, Scandal, Shark Tank and Quantico.

That leaves may shows on the bubble, including TV Fanatic favorites Castle and Nashville, as well as Agent Carter, American Crime, Galavant and Last Man Standing.

Castle could be contingent on whether or not the leads, Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion sign contracts for a ninth season, although there are plans to continue even in the event they should choose not to return.

Nashville has suffered from ratings erosion, but secondary income from album sales and concert tour revenue helps make up for it.

Galavant may be a little bit more expensive than the network is willing to spend given the low ratings for the critically adored series and is unlikely to return.

American Crime, despite its mesmerizing storytelling and critical acclaim, has also failed to catch on with viewers, so may be a hard sell. John Ridley also has another pilot in contingency, which may sway away from an American Crime pickup.

Last Man Standing has already sold to syndication after airing its 100th episode. All other freshman series not mentioned above also hang in the balance.

ABC Quotes

Aren’t we judged by how we treat people? I don’t mean as doctors. I mean as people. Especially those who don’t have the same advantages that we have. We hire Shaun and we give hope to those people with limitations that those limitations are not what they think they are. That they do have a shot! We hire Shaun and we make this hospital better for it. We hire Shaun and we are better people for it.

Why were you rude to me when we first met then nicer to me the second time we met and now you want to be my friend? Which time was it that you were pretending?
