The 100 Season 3 Episode 12 Review: Demons

at .  Updated at .

Don't tell ghost stories when you have several different groups of people out for your blood.

The 100 Season 3 Episode 12 began with Miller telling a ghost story that set the tone for the episode ahead. It served as a great starting point and got us ready for a thrilling hour.

The ghost story was like something a group of teenagers would come up with and it sort of reminded us at home that this group isn't fully grown up yet. They might be fighting for their lives on a daily basis, but they can still stop to have a little bit of fun.

That said, I doubt they'll be telling these kind of stories ever again. I can't be the only one that gasped when Carl showed up in that mask. He looked very similar to the dread doctors on Teen Wolf. Heck, even the way the scene was edited was similar to how they appear on the show, too.

Considering the threat from Emerson, it was evident that we would be losing someone else during this hour. Sinclair isn't the most prominent character on the show, but he's been around since the beginning and has been great at helping in the fight against the bad guys.

No one is safe on this show, so that scene with the air lock had me screaming at the TV. There were so many potential fatalities, and I couldn't rule out the possibility of more than one of my favorites dying in that darn thing.

Emerson's revenge plot really sucked. Clarke should have taken him out earlier in the season after finding out what he did to her people at Mount Weather. What Emerson seems to forget is that Mount Weather struck first against her people, so why would she just sit back and let her own die?

Pretty much everyone Emerson knew perished at the hands of Clarke and Bellamy, but he should have known that playing with fire would come with a price to pay.

The scene with Clarke using the chip to kill the villain was pretty spectacular. I thought there would be some way that she'd find a way to keep him alive in the hopes that he would redeem himself, but he messed with her people one too many times.

Returning to Arkadia was always going to be a tough move for Octavia. It meant she would probably have to come face-to-face with the corpse of her recently murdered boyfriend.

It seems like Octavia is over being a grounder. She's gradually reverting back to her old self and it's helping her get on with her friends from the Ark much better. The funeral for Lincoln and Sinclair was tough to watch, but it was great that the survivors found a way to honor their own one last time before pressing on with this impossible fight against Alie.

Octavia: Let's get this book and get the hell out of here.
Jasper: That's a plan I can support.

Meanwhile at Polis, Murphy's day went from bad to worse. He thought things were looking up when Emori popped up, but he was totally wrong.

Ontari proved just how jealous she could be and butted straight into Murphy's reunion with her. She's probably scared that he's going to come clean to someone about her not having the AI inside her. The twist that Emori had already taken the chip was intriguing.

As much as the City of Light storyline is beginning to drag, it makes it worthwhile when we're getting shocks like this. For now, it looks like Alie is the new commander. That's a bad thing.

You don't have to be a false commander.

Ontari will listen to her every command, and that should help them locate Clarke and her crew a whole lot faster. Every grounder will know that Clarke is in trouble and will take great pride in offering her up to Ontari.

"Demons" was a great return to form for the series. The last few episodes have been pretty slow, but this one kicked up the pace and managed to close off one of the long-running storylines, while setting a new one in motion. We're now going into the final third of the season and it's clear that not everyone will make it out alive.

What did you think of the episode? Will Murphy be able to save both Emori and Ontari? Will Jaha come in contact with Clarke's team soon? Hit the comments below with your take on the episode.
