Supergirl Season 2: Lynda Carter is the President of the U.S.!

at .

Rumors about Lynda Carter's casting on Supergirl Season 2 have been swirling for a while.

Of course she cannot play Wonder Woman, but she'll still be wonderful!

Carter will be playing the President of the United States when Supergirl returns for its second season on The CW network.

If you are unaware of her history, Carter played the best incarnation of Wonder Woman EVER in the 1070s live action TV series of the same name.

She will be joining a well established force of former superheroes who have already found life on Earth-3 with Melissa Benoist's Supergirl.

Former Superman Dean Cain played Kara's adoptive father (who was subsequently killed).

And former Supergirl Helen Slater plays Cain's wife and Kara's adoptive mother.

There hasn't been a lot of news about what storylines to expect from the upcoming season.

We do know Supergirl's world will somehow be introduced into the DC Universe that has already been introduced on The CW.

That will enable the show to be a part of a giant four-part crossover with The Flash, Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Supergirl and The Flash have already met in a one-way crossover when Barry Allen got lost in the Speed Force and found himself on Kara's world.

As for Carter's POTUS?

Executive Producer Greg Berlanti tried to get Carter on board for the role during Supergirl Season 1.

He called his inability to do so "his biggest disappointment" of the entire season. Wow.

Things obviously came together much better now, because Carter will for Season 2 recur beginning with Supergirl Season 2 Episode 3.

Braniac-5: Well the good news is, her mind is active and alert.
Alex: Oh, thank God.
Braniac-5: The bad news is, she is very angry.
Winn: Well, I'm sure she loves being trapped inside a mind prison.

You had me fooled, Danvers. I thought you were a soldier. But then I find this out. All the lies you must have told. You have undermined everything that we stand for, all to protect your own sister. Supergirl.
