Days of Our Lives Round Table: Stefano's Revenge

Stefano's doctor revealed he was terminally ill when he was killed, Adrienne found out she had cancer, and Abigail turned to blackmail to keep Dario quiet on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Andyroo from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate if the revelation changes how they view Stefano’s death, Kate and Adrienne's bonding moment, and the couple for which they’re rooting for in Salem.

Does Stefano having terminal cancer change the way you view Hope killing him?

Andyroo: It's kind of an interesting twist that makes Stefano's death a little more meaningful to me. The fact that he actually went out swinging and exacting revenge against the Bradys is a more fitting end to his character than just Hope going off the edge and shooting him.

Jack: Not at all. First of all, these scenes were really hard to watch because of Joe Mascolo's real life passing. But in any case, it's not like Hope gave him extra morphine. She emptied her gun into his chest and then she and Rafe hid his body under a bunch of trash. Him having bone cancer doesn't excuse any of that.

Christine: Not really. It was clear he was taunting her at the time, so this twist didn’t surprise me. As Andyroo said, it’s good to know that Stefano went out swinging…in his own twisted way.

Which couple in Salem are you rooting for right now?

Andyroo: I'm ready for Sonny and Paul to get together or at least get some romance somewhere. I really want Gabi and JJ to work out, but I have a feeling they're doomed.

Jack: Steve and Kayla. Everyone else is a mess. I'm also rooting for JJ's relationship with himself. It breaks my heart to see him have such low self-esteem year after year and I want to see him get whatever help he needs to change that.

Christine: I’d love to see Chad happy with someone. The poor guy has been miserable for a long time. He’s got chemistry with both Abigail and Gabi, so I’ll be happy with whomever he ends up with, I’d just like to see some romance for a change.

Do you hope that Hattie returns to Salem?

Andyroo: Sure, it could be fun seeing her interact with the rest of the Salemites. If they're never going to give Marlena anything to do, might as well give a story to Hattie.

Jack: Yes! Hattie is so much fun.

Christine: I agree. I wasn’t sure what to think when she showed up, but I’m loving her interactions with Hope. I’d be happy to see her have some fun with the rest of Salem.

What was the most shocking turn of the week: Kate bonding with Adrienne, Abigail blackmailing Dario, that Eve is back in Salem, or something else?

Andyroo: I was shocked that Dario of all people was the one to run into Abigail. Guess that means he's sticking around longer...hooray. It was nice to see Kate reach out to Adrienne given her experience with cancer. I just wish we could have seen more of them together.

Jack: Kate bonding with Adrienne, but in a good way. It's so nice to see Kate's softer side, which has been missing for a while.

Christine: Kate bonding with Adrienne over her cancer. I didn’t see that one coming at all, and it’s a nice change of pace from their usual combativeness. Abigail blackmailing Dario came in second, but it was nice to see Abby get a little bit of her spunk back.

Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?

Andyroo: I'm terribly bored anytime Eduardo or Dario are on screen, so it was disappointing to see them both this week. I also wish they would commit to this Abe/Valerie storyline or else not do it at all. She's turning into Lani 2.0 for me, a waste.

Jack: Dario looking down on Abby after he's done nothing but stalk women, hide bodies, and get involved in some silly microchip theft. Gabi's reaction to that purse was not much better. Also can we not rewrite Jack's history to make him suddenly into a deadbeat dad? Please?

Christine: Yeah, wasn’t Jack being held hostage in Afghanistan? I know Jack was far from perfect, but I didn’t like Jennifer tearing her down just to make a point to Abigail. I’m also with Andyroo about Abe and Valerie, either give them an actual storyline or move on already!

What was your favorite quote, scene or story line this week on Days of Our Lives?

Andyroo: It was nice seeing Nancy. Victor with his grandkids was cute. Kate coming to Adrienne, but wish there had been more shown.

Jack: I loved JJ talking to Abby (minus the Jack character assassination) and Kate reassuring Lucas that Adrienne's cancer scare would probably turn out all right.

Christine: I loved Victor with his grandkids/great-grandkids. Claire thought she was playing Pop Pop. The girl has no clue that the King of all deception was simply indulging her and being amused while he did it.
