10 Pilots Poised To Get Series Orders

at .  Updated at .

With the upfronts fast approaching, it's time to look at the pilots most likely to become full-fledged series in the near future.

With all networks losing ratings ground this year, they will be looking for the next big hit.

Thus far, it looks like primetime soaps are making a comeback, and we could not be more excited.

Thanks to an article in The Hollywood Reporter, we now have a list of shows poised to be on the 2017-2018 schedule.

1. S.W.A.T. - CBS

S.W.A.T. hails from Shawn Ryan and stars Shemar Moore and Jay Harrington. It has been a frontrunner ever since it was announced because of the talent associated with it. CBS has limited spots available, but S.W.A.T. is expected to come out ahead of the other Navy seals drama in development at the network.

2. Ghosted - Fox

With a cast that boasts the likes of Craig Robinson and Adam Scott, Ghosted is said to have come in better than expected for Fox. The series will follow two men who are recruited by The Bureau in Los Angeles to investigate "unexplained" activity.

3. Unitiled Marvel - Fox

Marvel's latest TV offering will star Stephen Moyer, Jamie Chung and Amy Acker. Very little is known about it, but it is said to be a frontrunner for a series order on the drama side of things at Fox.

4. Rise - NBC

Hailing from Jason Katims, Rise has been running ahead of the pack ever since it was announced. With Josh Radnor and Auli'i Cravalho as part of the cast, what could go wrong? Nothing, probably. This would mark a return for high school-set dramas to the broadcast networks.

5. The Sackett Sisters - NBC

Casey Wilson and Busy Phillips have great comedy timing and look set to be joining forces for this new NBC comedy which finds the Sackett sisters reuniting after an act of heroism. It could be held for midseason.

6. 9J, 9K and 9L - CBS

This potential series would star Elliot Gould and David Walton. It is a comedy that would follow the lives of family members who stay in apartments next to one another.

7. Untitled Marc Cherry Project - ABC

Marc Cherry is the man who brought us Desperate Housewives and is expected to bring us another hit. This series focuses on a small-town sheriff whose town is rocked by the arrival of a young Middle Eastern FBI agent. This series has been dubbed as better than Desperate Housewives. We're intrigued.

8. Start Up - ABC

Start-Up follows Zach Braff's character who has a good job, but decides to quit and start his own business. Zach made audiences laugh for years on Scrubs, so it comes as little surprise that this series is a lock to hit the air.

9. Black Lightning - The CW

The CW looks set to launch another superhero series from Greg Berlanti. This one will star Cress Williams as the superhero and looks set to be launching midseason. Berlanti already has five shows on the network, so this would mark his sixth. Yikes.

10. Dynasty - The CW

Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage know a thing or two about what makes a great primetime soap opera. That's probably why The CW's Dynasty reboot looks set to land a series pick up. The studio is already making staffing orders, so this one is poised to be your next primetime guilty pleasure. Nathalie Kelley, Elizabeth Gillies and Alan Dale are part of the cast.

The CW Quotes

Alice: These diaries are your past, and your past is crushing you. Edgar says that...
Betty: What, Mom? What does some guru who’s running a heaven’s gate commune for pregnant runaways and wives of serial killers have to say about my diaries?
Alice: We know that you look down on the Farm, Betty. But, Edgar has done nothing but help me. He’s encouraged me to embrace everything that I was ashamed of and become the best version of myself.

Veronica: What's happening out there? Do we know? Is it about me?
Jughead: I have a strong inkling, and no. Also, I'd let it go.
Veronica: Yes, but you're you and I'm me. You do you, girl. I'll be back.
[She leaves]
Kevin: What was it like before she got here? I honestly cannot remember.
