With Designated Survivor returning this fall on ABC, the political thriller is rounding out the cast for its sophomore run.
The latest addition comes in the form of Paulo Costanzo who will join the series Lyor Boone, the new White House Political Director.
Costanzo has been added as a series regular on the series, and we're kind of freaking out about it.
Italia Ricci's Emily is the one to welcome Lyor to the team, but there will be some conflict, and it appears to be coming from Keifer Sutherland's President Kirkman.
According to TV Line, the two men will spar with each other, but the aim of the game is to get the people to believe in Tom Kirkman and that Lyor will be the best man for that.
Costanzo previously starred on USA Network's Royal Pains for eight seasons.
The news comes on the heels of Virginia Madsen confirming via Twitter that she would not be staging a comeback to the hit show for Season 2.
Viewers were enamored with Madsen's performance as Kimble Hookstraten. Crazy name aside, the character was one of the better ones.
It was somewhat surprising that she will not be returning, but something tells us the series has a reset planned to try and keep viewers entertained.
The high-concept shows have a knack for burning through storylines too quickly, so we're sure the cast changes are to help streamline the show.
It was announced in April that the series was on the lookout for its fourth showrunner. It's unheard of for a show to have so many different showrunners at such a young age.
The show launched with solid ratings, but Designated Survivor Season 1 wound up averaging 5.8 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49.
It was a solid performer on the DVR, regularly doubling its live ratings, so there was no question about whether it would be renewed.
