Killjoys will continue to air on Syfy for two more seasons.

The hit drama series has been renewed by the network for Season 4 and Season 5, but there's a catch.

First Strike - Killjoys Season 3 Episode 10

The 20 episode renewal will mark the show's swan song. Yes, Syfy has officially announced the show will come to a close after Season 5

“This renewal is the kind of privilege every creator hopes for – a chance to plan the end of your story with the luxury of 20-episodes to do it,” said series creator Michelle Lovretta in a statement.

“I’m immensely grateful [for] this incredible opportunity.”

Uneasy Prisoner - Killjoys Season 3 Episode 10

It's always great when a series finds out that it will be ending years in advance. It gives the powers that be time to naturally bring the storylines to a close.

Having two seasons to do that also means viewers will have time to come to terms with the end of a show.

The show has been a solid entry to the network's scripted slate with a genuinely enthralling storyline that keeps viewers on their toes.

With the renewal announced, it means that viewers will not be left up in the air after tonight's Killjoys Season 3 finale.

Brothers United - Killjoys Season 3 Episode 10

It's always good to go into a season finale knowing that your show is coming back.

Killjoys Season 3's ratings have been okay. It is currently averaging 0.6 million viewers and a 0.2 rating.

Killjoys joins Wynonna Earp as the two Syfy shows that aired on Fridays to recently garner renewals.

Still in the Fight - Killjoys Season 3 Episode 8

It was confirmed earlier today that Dark Matter was canceled and would not return for Season 4.

The odd thing about all of it was that Dark Matter had the exact same ratings as Killjoys.

Over to you, Killjoys Fanatics. Are you happy with the renewal?
