More Scorsese, please!

If there was one thing to take away from Lethal Weapon Season 2 Episode 8, it was that Scorsese has the best expressions of any character on television.

If he made all those faces going on a wild ride with Murtaugh, can you imagine what his face would look like if Riggs were driving?

I'm already dying.

"Fork-Getta-Bout-It" was one of the funniest episodes to date and gave us a much-needed break from the heaviness of Riggs' backstory. The only nightmare here was Murtaugh's personal nightmare that he might actually be boring.

He can thank Scorsese and his movie script for bringing that flaw to life.

Murtaugh didn't like the way he was depicted in Scorsese's script even if it was accurate.

There's nothing wrong with being safe and predictable, but seeing it in written form was more than Roger could handle.

What made it worse was Scorsese's ability to mimic Roger to perfection. Although it was hilarious to everyone around him (and to me!), Roger found no humor in it.

If anything, it made him want to push his limits and move past his comfort zone. And when he did, he did it without any urging from Riggs which was also refreshing.

Riggs: I thought we just made fun of him as a writer? So you're really a writer?
Scorsese: Yes.

Of course, he had something to prove to Scorsese as well, so when the time came to chase down Jerry, Murtaugh took full advantage of the situation.

What made the whole scenario even more fun was that Jerry was not the type of guy you'd expect to run from the cops. The safe doctor running from the safe cop was all sorts of clever.

And there was Scorsese trying to be the cool screenwriter/medical examiner who couldn't hold it together when one of his main characters stepped out of character.

The whole scene was like watching a cartoon, and I loved every minute of it. It was the best scene of the entire hour. Hands down.

Well, that, and learning Scorsese's real name. Who would have ever guessed Scorsese is really a Bernard?

But once you let it sink in a little, Scorsese does look like a Bernard, doesn't he? It's a very scholarly name.

It was uncanny (at least for Scorsese) how his script fit in perfectly with the case, but then again, how many newbie screenwriters are writing a mob-based screenplay? My guess? All of them. 

Everybody wants to do the next Godfather or Goodfellas. Why would Scorsese be any different?

But Scorsese did have a different angle. His collaborator was a guy with an in that proved to be an invaluable resource.

I don't know if it was meant to be that way, but I got the feeling that everything was tongue-in-cheek. There was no way Frank the mob boss and Scorsese's buddy weren't meant to be caricatures, right?

And in the hotel room when Murtaugh fell out of the ceiling, and the shootout went into slo-mo was classic. That was my second favorite scene of the night. 

It was just so ridiculously silly, but that's what made it all the more fun.

Roger's problems weren't just relegated to work. At home, he had to deal with the realization that Riana was dating the boy next door. 

Yes, that boy next door, the dentist's son.

What I don't understand is why Riggs wasn't the one fixing the fence since he was the one who ruined it, but it gave Roger the opportunity to get to know his neighbor in a different light.

Roger should have stepped away when he figured out McNeile was spying on the kids; but like any good parent, how can you resist sneaking a peek at what your kids are doing?

If you're the parent of teenagers, you'll know exactly what I mean. We can get into a long argument about privacy some other day.

I was glad to see Roger get over his dislike of McNeile enough to let Riana and the boy go to homecoming together. People should be able to date whomever they want even if it's the son of someone not on your favorites list.

Besides, those two kids looked cute together. And how hot was that Mustang? I can't believe McNeile let his teenage son drive it. 

It looks like Riggs might be heading into another possible romance with Molly. There is a ton of chemistry between those two as there should be considering they've been friends for so long, but it may prove to be a little tricky.

Will Riggs be willing to sacrifice a friendship for a romance that may not turn out happily ever after?

Molly doesn't have a good track record with guys. It seems that she tends towards the bad boys, and while Riggs might fit under that umbrella, he's not the kind of bad boy she's attracted to.

I would rather see Riggs maintain friendship status with Molly than for him to dive into a romance with her. Romances with friends can be messy, especially when kids are involved.
