Lucifer Season 3 Episode 6 Review: Vegas With Some Radish

Lucifer and Ella make a great team!

Ella stepped outside of the lab and became a showgirl on Lucifer Season 3 Episode 6 as she and Lucifer teamed up to hunt down a killer.

But as much fun as it was for the two of them, Chloe was left in the cold wondering why Lucifer returned to Las Vegas on the one day she expected a little extra attention — her birthday.

Showgirl Ella - Lucifer Season 3 Episode 6

Ella's got a wild side, and she's not afraid to show it. Showing up Dan is usually Lucifer's sport, so it was a surprise when it turned out Ella was behind Chloe's special stripper birthday cake.

After Lucifer got the call about Candy, Ella somehow finagled her way into going to Vegas with Lucifer, which at the time seemed innocent enough, but after her revelation about "voices," it now seems a little suspicious.

It's clear that Ella likes the idea of Lucifer and Chloe together even if she sort of promotes the whole Lt. Pierce and Chloe pairing, so going to Vegas with Lucifer could have been to make sure he stayed in line and didn't marry someone else like the last time he was in Vegas.

Ella didn't spend much time talking about the "voices." She didn't mean to blurt out that piece of information, but Ella sometimes has a hard time keeping her mouth shut.

Lucifer on the Piano Season 3 Episode 6

The only tidbit we got was that she became a bad girl to keep the voices out. Someone here mentioned that she might be a Nephilim sent to watch over Lucifer, and that very well might be the case.

But if she is, it doesn't seem like she's aware of it. Maybe she finally figured it out, and that's why she no longer hears the voices, after all, doesn't seem like she's hearing them anymore. Didn't it sound like she was talking about them being in the past?

Either way, it's a mystery that needs to be solved.

I wasn't too fond of the flashbacks mostly because I'm not fond of flashbacks in particular. They detract from and take the viewer out of the story. I would have rather seen more Ella as a showgirl and Vegas bad girl, but the flashbacks here were needed to explain the tie-in to the case of the week.

Which, as it turned out, was nothing more than a device to separate Chloe and Lucifer on her special day. It was nothing special.

Chloe is still hanging on to her kiss with Lucifer and the idea they are on their way to becoming a romantic couple. While a lot of people 'ship Deckerstar, Clucifer or whatever you want to call them, I'm not one of them.

Not yet anyway. And call me crazy, but don't you think Ella would be a much better partner for Lucifer than Chloe? Her personality is a lot more Lucifer's style than Debbie Downer Detective Chloe's.

Meeting Candy - Lucifer Season 3 Episode 6

Chloe was annoyingly whiny when she found out Lucifer had gone to Vegas. I get that she had pangs of jealousy, but she shouldn't have let it upset her.

Is she really that desperate for a relationship with Lucifer that she had to ruin her own birthday because he wasn't around?

I was expecting more from her little party with Dr. Linda and Dan. They could have had a much better time if Chloe wasn't so focused on Lucifer, but it was hard not to considering they were partying it up in Lucifer's penthouse.

If Maze was around, she would have knocked the whiny and mopey right out of Chloe. Dr. Linda didn't know what to do because she was trying so hard to stay on the middle ground. She knows too much and needed to watch herself while trying to give out good advice.

But, let's be honest, their little party was completely boring even with Chloe doing her best Risky Business interpretation.

Off To Vegas - Lucifer

And who wasn't expecting something more riveting in the safe than just Chloe's birthday present?

I was fully expecting the safe to be breached and the trio to find one of Lucifer's feathers or something intriguing to make them scratch their heads in wonder — at least Dan and Chloe.

The whole necklace in the safe seemed rather pointless and disappointing. It was cute that Lucifer made a special necklace for Chloe from the bullet she shot him with back on Lucifer Season 1, but in the end, it was letdown. Whoop dee doo. She learned that he does care about her and they hugged in the end.

While "Vegas with Some Radish" had its moments, it wasn't as exciting as it could have been. Seeing Lucifer hit the piano again with Ella as a showgirl was the highlight of the hour, and the mystery of Ella's "voices" provided a bigger thrill than the mystery of the safe.

What did you think of "Vegas with Some Radish"? Was it as fun as you were expecting? How did you like Ella as a showgirl?

Were you expecting something else to be in the safe? How soon before Lucifer and Chloe become a real couple?
