Riverdale Season 3: Who Got Promoted?

at .

Riverdale is going to have a lot more of two characters in the fall.

According to TV Insider, the hit CW drama has promoted both Vanessa Morgan and Charles Melton to series regulars ahead of Riverdale Season 3.

Morgan plays Toni Topaz on the series and joined in a recurring role during Riverdale Season 2. Toni was initially introduced as a friend of Jughead Jones when he was getting to grips with the Southside Serpent way of life.

However, the character crossed paths with Cheryl Blossom in the aftermath of the Southside High students being moved to Riverdale High, and the two are now in a relationship.

In a recent episode, Toni was one of a number of characters who broke into an asylum Cheryl's mother put her in for conversion therapy.

Morgan has also appeared in Finding Carter and The Shannara Chronicles.

As for Melton, he joined the cast for Season 2 after it was announced that Ross Butler was exiting to return to 13 Reasons Why as a series regular.

Charles assumed the role of Reggie effective from Riverdale Season 2.

While this is great news for fans of the characters, let's not forget that Casey Cott and Ashleigh Murray are also billed as series regulars.

If you watch Riverdale online, you will find it difficult to find any proof that they are anything more than recurring players.

Hopefully, the powers that be find a way to give all of the talented actors time to shine when mapping out Riverdale Season 3.

It sucks to have a lot of the cast not utilized as well as they can be.

Riverdale Quotes

Alice: These diaries are your past, and your past is crushing you. Edgar says that...
Betty: What, Mom? What does some guru who’s running a heaven’s gate commune for pregnant runaways and wives of serial killers have to say about my diaries?
Alice: We know that you look down on the Farm, Betty. But, Edgar has done nothing but help me. He’s encouraged me to embrace everything that I was ashamed of and become the best version of myself.

Veronica: What's happening out there? Do we know? Is it about me?
Jughead: I have a strong inkling, and no. Also, I'd let it go.
Veronica: Yes, but you're you and I'm me. You do you, girl. I'll be back.
[She leaves]
Kevin: What was it like before she got here? I honestly cannot remember.
