When SEAL Team returns for Season 2 in the fall, there will be changes at the wheel.

Per Deadline, John Glenn has been tapped as the showrunner for the new season of the CBS drama series.

SEAL Team Season 1 was run by Ed Redlich, but the contract spanned one-year. Redlich also served as an executive producer alongside series creator, Benjamin Cavell.

CBS handed out an early renewal to SEAL Team back in March after it turned in solid ratings for the network.

The freshman run averaged 6.7 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. It surged almost 90 percent with a week of DVR factored in, while it is said to have gotten a substantial boost on CBS All Access.

“These exciting new dramas have been sensational additions to our schedule, are striking all the right notes creatively and really connect with our viewers,” said Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment in March.

“SEAL Team has strengthened our Wednesday lineup – routinely winning its time period with over 10 million viewers and allowing us to build an even more powerful night, while S.W.A.T. has improved Thursday’s 10 PM hour by over 2.5 million viewers versus last season."

"Additionally, both are among the very top streamers on our digital platforms, including and CBS All Access."

"We congratulate the talented casts and producers on an amazing year as we look forward to their return next season.”

SEAL Team stars David Boreanaz as Jason Hayes, the leader of a Navy SEAL team, who is struggling with the loss of one of their own.

It's a high-octane drama that gives viewers an insight into what life is like on the front line.
