Suits Season 8 Episode 4 Review: Revenue Per Square Foot

at . Comments

Robert Zane needs to take a long hard look at the way he conducts business.

On Suits Season 8 Episode 4, the managing partner struggled to keep all of his employees in line, and I'm happy Donna was on hand to put him in his place.

While there's something to be said about the way everyone at the firm fails to follow orders, Donna's analysis about why the people from the previous firm turned on Robert was sound.

Robert and Zane - Suits

He's a by the books kind of man who likes to know that everyone is doing what is expected of them. There's nothing wrong with that, but acting cold towards everyone bit him in the butt.

The first four episodes of Suits Season 8 have had a lot of Wendell Pierce despite him being a recurring player. It makes me think something big is going to happen that makes Robert reevaluate his place at the firm.

Harvey: You're not leaving until I get an answer.
Louis: Get the hell off me.

Pierce is busy with Amazon's Jack Ryan, so it's almost as if the creative forces behind the show are trying to get as much of the actor as they can.

Hopefully, Donna's tactics will not be lost on Robert, and he'll start to show empathy when it's due. There's nothing worse than having a non-functioning team.

Louis was given a great storyline to work with on "Revenue Per Square Foot." Watching him getting mugged was one of the most shocking developments to happen on the series.

If you watch Suits online, you know that Louis has always struggled to open up about his feelings, so it made sense that he wanted to keep the mugging private.

Louis Is Lit - Suits Season 7 Episode 14

He was put in a life or death situation, so it was only a matter of time before it all came flooding back to him. I just didn't expect it to happen in the courtroom during a case he should have had the upper hand in all along.

Samantha: Louis, relax.
Louis: Dammit, you weren't there!

Samantha proved that she had a heart by turning to Harvey. She genuinely cared about Louis' wellbeing, and that was nice.

It was predictable that it was Harvey who got through to Louis, but we have to remember that Harvey was also suffering from PTSD not too long ago.

They may be polar opposites, but there are times when they can help each other. I was surprised that Louis shut down. I figured he would have made a more elaborate excuse up for Robert to get off the hook.

Robert was harsh, but he softened up when he learned about the harrowing incident.

Helping a Friend - Suits Season 8 Episode 4

It's not uncommon to want your attacker to face the iron fist of justice, but what Robert said about the man one day having to face up to who he is resonated with Louis.

Louis is a tough man to reach and that comes down to his insecurities. He thinks that if someone is nice to him, they have an ulterior motive.

I was critical about his meeting with Samantha on Suits Season 8 Episode 3, but I'm intrigued to see how their friendship could play out.

Maybe they will become as close as Mike and Harvey were. Who knows?

What we know for now is that Samantha has taken Louis under her wing to help him with self-defense, and that could come in handy down the line.

Donna Has a Plan - Suits Season 8 Episode 4

My only hope is that the criminal does not someday show up seeking legal advice. Leave that trope at bay, please.

I can't begin to express how over the battle for named partner I am. I mean, speaking about it for one episode is alright, but every single episode has centered on it to the point that I don't care whether Alex up and leaves the firm.

Harvey made a promise to him, but in the high-stakes world of law, things change. Hell, the firm's name changes every other day, so that's also something to consider.

It would be good to give Alex a storyline that does not involve him trying to get ahead. I respected his comments about not doing anything illegal when he accompanied Harvey on the case.

Still, give Dule Hill something better to do. He's been wasted on this show ever since his debut!

"Revenue Per Square Foot" was a mixed bag. There were some good moments, but also some questionable choices.
