Timeless Wrap-Up Movie: When Will It Air?

The wait for the Timeless wrap-up movie will not be long.
The recently announced movie will premiere on NBC this December, and production is slated to get underway in October, according to various tweets from the Timeless Writers Twitter account.
"We can't wait to take all you #ClockBlockers on this incredible journey. We're getting to make these two hours because of you. Thanks!" said one of the tweets of the movie.
While it's difficult knowing the series is toast, it's good to know that fans will be getting some resolution after the stunning conclusion to Timeless Season 2.
It ended with future versions of Lucy and Wyatt showing up in the bunker and asking the present-day versions of the characters if they're ready to save their dead friend, Rufus.
NBC swung the ax on Timeless for the second time in June after a deal could not be reached for a third season of the cult hit.
While the movie special was said to be a possibility back then, it seemed like all hope was lost when the cast options expired, with co-creator Shawn Ryan taking to social media to say the efforts to find a new home failed.

"While Sony will continue to look at any and all options, actor deals have expired, and it appears there will be no Season 3 or beyond,” he said in early July.
"Discussions still take place… but there are considerable economic obstacles that make it an uncertainty. We will update you when we know more,” Ryan said of the movie.
Thankfully, a deal was reached just weeks later to make the movie finale a reality.
"While we wish we could’ve made another dozen seasons of Timeless, this is the next best thing,” said executive producers Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke in a joint statement at the time.
“We’re thrilled to take the Lifeboat out for one last spin and bring closure to our story. The studio, network, cast, and crew are all doing this for one reason only: the fans."

"Because they deserve it. Because the fans made this happen and we thank them for their passion, support, and helicopters. So? You guys want to get Rufus back or what?”
Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjić, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit are all signed on to appear in the finale.
