Will & Grace: David Schwimmer Lands Key Role!

There may be no Friends reboot or revival in the works, but NBC is bringing David Schwimmer back to its Thursday night line-up during the 2018-19 season.

The former Friends star has been added to the cast of the Emmy-winning comedy's tenth season.

Schwimmer will play a new love interest for Grace, but that's all the peacock network has revealed thus far about the new addition.

It's certainly a good idea to bring Schwimmer back to the network, and we can't wait to see what funny scenarios the new character he's playing finds himself in.

The actor has kept himself busy since Friends went off the air back in 2004. He has had appearances in 30 Rock, Web Therapy and an awards-worthy performance on American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Will & Grace returned last September after an eleven-year hiatus and was a ratings hit for the network. It averaged 5.5 million viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49 in live + same day figures.

The series also achieved solid gains in delayed viewing, and has been renewed through 2020 as a result of it being such a success for the network.

“As far as I’m concerned, we can’t get enough of Will & Grace, and 23 more episodes is music to my ears,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in March confirming the renewal.

“We’re eternally grateful that Debra, Eric, Sean and Megan feel the same way and wanted to keep this good thing going."
