The OSP has battled all kinds of enemies over the years, coming out on top.

Now they have to battle an ambitious special prosecutor on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 10 Episode 4.

Oh, yeah, and also the assassins for a revenge-minded Mexican cartel.

Now the big question will be which one is more dangerous.

Let's address the most pressing concern: Callen being in charge.

Callen being in charge isn't something new, with Hetty's many absences. I was hoping for something new, such as Admiral Kilbride filling in until Hetty returns.

I'd still like there to be a reason for Kilbride to be around regularly. His exchanges with the Meerkats in Ops are priceless.

A little shakeup can be a good thing. Or a bad thing (See NCIS: Los Angeles Season 9 for the most glaring example).

Speaking of Mosley, she was back, hopefully for one of the last times. I'm still pushing for Witness Protection, but you know it won't be that easy.

Sam was correct when, despite being sympathetic, he pointed out that Mosley made this mess and was going to have to be the one to clean it up for everyone.

The big unanswered question is whether whatever deal she made with Rogers will save everyone or just herself and Derrick. I'd like to think the former, but I just can't be sure.

I still don't get why Rogers' investigation of the Mexico mission extends anywhere beyond Mosley. Yes, she was justified in wanting to rescue her abducted son. But she attempted that oh so badly. A solid new character in Hidoko got killed off, and the OSP team got badly injured.

Unfortunately, it got handed to a prosecutor looking to make a name for himself. So it's going to get blown up to ridiculous proportions, I'm afraid.

That seems to be a running theme in the NCIS franchise (hell, any police drama): bureaucrats and politicians getting in the way of law enforcers trying to keep people safe from harm. Sure, such types are easy targets for overly simplifying complex situations.

It was obvious that Ochoa didn't like Rogers and Kilbride held him in utter disdain. It was easy to see why, when he acted disapprovingly of the team killing off four cartel assassins. Their action was like the old joke about lawyers: That's a good start.

The best scene of the episode when Rogers tried to interrogate Eric but kept jumping at all the noises around him, which Kilbride definitely facilitated. I don't ever remember the gym being that busy.

I wonder when Deeks' law background will make an appearance in this storyline. He's out of practice but that knowledge may yet come in handy.

One thing that's for certain is that Hetty won't be bailing out her squad anytime soon.

It's impossible to say what role Linda Hunt's car accident has played in Hetty's absence. Since she missed a good chunk of last season as well, the 73-year-old Hunt may just want to lighten her workload somewhat.

But fans will take whatever amount of Hetty they can get. The team just can't expect Hetty to come to their rescue yet again. That's been done too many times.

Rogers has to be considered a legitimate threat, however. Mexico isn't the OSP's first off-the-book mission (or even the first that season), so he'll have no trouble finding ammunition to use against them.

But then, Rogers likely has skeletons in his closet as well. There's where Hetty would come in really handy. Has she trained Nell well enough in that type of intelligence gathering?

The other question is how big a threat is the bounty placed on them by the Mexican drug cartel?

With all the people they've put away, the possibility of being a target is nothing new. They're used to looking over their shoulders. All are single, and Sam's children are away at school.

So they'll need to be aware, but not paranoid.

Mosley needs to disappear with Derrick. You know, like Hotch did with Jack on Criminal Minds.

That would give a noble end to a failed character. And end our national nightmare. (Hyperbole much?)

So the questions generated by the episode are:

How long until Mosley leaves?
How long until Hetty returns?
How long will the Rogers and cartel storylines linger?

At least with all the activity, we were only subjected to one Densi wedding-planning scene. We get it. They're back on track, as much as they ever were. No one's going to think they've broken up if there isn't one such scene in every episode.
