It wouldn't be a Shonda Rhimes mid-season finale if lives weren't in peril!

A storm was raging on Station 19 Season 2 Episode 7, and Andy and Sullivan are the two left out in the cold.

Will they survive?

It's unlikely that Andy will perish, but what about Sullivan? Will he ironically die on the same road as his wife?

Probably not, but it would be tragic if he died just as he was finally starting to open up and talk about his past.

Their patient could be in real trouble, however. She was already unstable before the car rolled into a ditch.

As dire as their situation is, assuming they come out of it unscathed, it will be good to see Sullivan continue to come out of his shell. His previous attempts to connect with a member of the firehouse have been mostly awkward, but it looks like he may have finally found "his person" in Andy.

Also, it's hard not to love the Grey's Anatomy callout with all that "people" talk.

Sullivan: I know you think I'm closed off. You're right, I am. I wasn't always.
Andy: What changed?
Sullivan: Something bad happened to me. To "my people." My person, I guess. Right here on this street. She didn't fare as well as Shannon back there. I thought enough time had passed. I didn't know that coming back to Seattle would have...hit me this hard.

Sullivan is far from being a favorite character, but he has the potential to develop into someone we can root for regularly. He's no longer the "bad guy" if he even ever was.

There was more than just fire heating up the station when Ripley and Vic decided they were done being professional!

That was hot, I am not going to lie, but they still need to create some boundaries. He's the fire chief, and locked door or not, they could have easily been caught. For one thing, he was acting very suspicious and still straightening out his clothes when he joined the dinner celebration.

Jack already knows, but anyone else with eyes can see the chemistry between them.

It's not all on him either, Vic was acting super weird too. She needs to dial it down a notch when she's around him at work. What happens if someone important finds out? They haven't been too clear about whether this is simply frowned upon or if there are actual rules against it.

Speaking of dialing it down a notch, Jack needs to take it way down.

He is becoming completely unhinged, and it's only a matter of time before he makes a costly mistake. It's a good thing he was told to stay behind because he absolutely should not be in the field right now.

The good news is people are starting to notice, which hopefully means someone will convince him to seek help.

JackHe needs to get to the root of his insomnia and find a way to start sleeping peacefully again. Sleep deprivation can make people do some crazy things.

Vic: Warren, you live with Gibson, is everything okay with him?
Ben: Define your version of "okay." The guy drinks pickle juice, like, from a jar. And he listens to weird-ass music.
Vic: I don't know, he seems on edge or something.
Ben. I mean the guy barely sleeps.

Whether it's Vic, Pruitt, or someone else, somebody needs to get through to him before it's too late. If he hurts someone or makes a critical mistake in the field, it could cost him his job, or worse. Honestly, he probably needs to be benched until he gets this under control.

If they can't make him listen, they may need to go to Sullivan (assuming he's alive and everything).

While things are heating up between Vic and Ripley, they could be cooling off between Travis and Grant.

First of all, it's time for Travis to take off his wedding ring. It's awesome that Grant is patient about it, but if Travis is ready to be intimate with someone else, then that should mean he's prepared to take it off. It's a big step, I know, but so was letting Grant into his life.

Besides, it's just going to cause more awkward questions.

The real problem here is not that he's still wearing it, but that Grant may never want one. He doesn't see himself ever getting married, and it's unclear how Travis feels about that.

Obviously, Travis has been married before, so he's not against the institution, but that doesn't necessarily mean he feels the need to do it again.

I know widowers who have dated the same person for decades and simply didn't feel the need get married. By the look on Travis' face though, he looked a little bummed.

Maybe he'll get over it, or maybe Grant will change his mind. Regardless, for now, the boat has been rocked.

Not all of the relationship drama was between romantic couples. Ryan spent the day agonizing over his dad's arrest warrant.

Ryan: The way I see it, I have two options. Either I take you in now like I should have this morning...
Greg: Or?
Ryan: Or, I let you walk out the front door, no questions asked. And we never speak to each other again.
Greg: So, what are you gonna do?

What will Ryan do? He was finally in a good place with his dad, even if it was only for a very short time. It's hard to believe he's ready to give that up and never speak to him again, but arresting him isn't a better option either.

My guess is Greg will turn himself in to save Ryan from his anguish. Maybe he'll be able to cut a deal, and the two of them can be a happy family again. Does anyone else have any theories?

The final mystery is whether or not Maya will leave Station 19 now that she got promoted. They say be careful what you wish for, and she is learning that the hard way.

If this were real life, I'd say she should go for it. It's a great opportunity, and she deserves it. But, it's not, and I don't want her to leave.

Perhaps with Jack falling off the deep end, he'll do something stupid and earn himself a demotion, allowing Maya to step in and take his place.

One can hope, right?

Ben saving those two babies was adorable, but it's no wonder Bailey's blood pressure is so high after we watched him run back in there for the grandma. Hopefully, these two end their Sabbatical ASAP.
