Arrested Development Gets March Return Date at Netflix

Arrested Development will be back on our screens in the coming weeks.

Netflix has confirmed the second half of the fifth season has secured a March return date.

Premiering Friday, March 15, the final eight episodes of the season are widely expected to wrap up the series.

Arrested Development Season 5B Poster

The streamer also dropped the official poster, confirming the series is going with the following tagline:

"One Murder. No Masterminds."

"In the second half of Arrested Development’s fifth season, pressures mount on the Bluth family as Buster heads toward a murder trial," the official synopsis reads.

"The Bluth company is on the hook to build a ’smart’ border wall that puts them in debt and risks exposing a software hoax perpetrated by George-Michael."

"Soon the gay mafia is involved and it appears that even Michael can’t save the family this time. And Tobias becomes a Golden Girl."

The previous eight episodes dropped back in May 2018, so it's been a long wait for fans of the series.

The show is not as fun as it was on Fox, and critics have taken note of that.

Arrested Development Season 5 has an approval rating of 61 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

That's way down from the 100 percent rating for Arrested Development Season 1 and Season 3.

There's still no word yet on whether these final eight episodes will represent the show's last.

But David Cross, who plays Tobias Funke, revealed on the Late Night with Seth Meyers Podcast that there's a chance the show will continue.

"I’ve learned to say ‘never say never,’ but I can’t see it happening again, I think for a number of reasons."

Jeffrey Tambor Attends GLAAD Awards

Some of those reasons are likely down to embattled star, Jeffrey Tambor's recent firing from Transparent for inappropriate behavior.
