It's the end of an era for The CW's Riverdale.

Luke Perry's final episode as Archie’s dad Fred Andrews will air this Wednesday, according to executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced.

"This week’s Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed,” the EP wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

“As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between father and son. Wish these scenes could go on forever…”

Perry died days after suffering a stroke last month at 52 years of age, but Fred has continued to appear on episodes of the drama series because the episodes are filmed in advance.

It's still unclear how Perry's death will be handled on-screen, and fans have a lot of thoughts about what should happen, commenting on Roberto's post.

One fan replied: “I hope they have a fitting tribute for his character planned. Please don’t recast.”

The Riverdale cast and crew were in mourning when Perry's passing was announced last month, and production was shut down for a number of days to allow them to process the stunning news.

The CW opted to let the series air as normal without placing it on hiatus in the immediate aftermath.

As for what the episode will be about, the official synopsis for Riverdale Season 3 Episode 19 reads:

JELLYBEAN GOES MISSING — When Jellybean (guest star Trinity Likins) goes missing, Jughead (Cole Sprouse), Gladys (Gina Gershon) and FP (Skeet Ulrich) follow a series of cryptic clues to get her home.

Elsewhere, Archie (KJ Apa) faces the fallout from his latest boxing match, while Betty (Lili Reinhart) makes a major discovery about Evelyn’s (guest star Zoe De Grand’Maison) past.

Finally, Josie (Ashleigh Murray) makes a big decision about her future. Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, Madchen Amick, Luke Perry, Mark Consuelos, Skeet Ulrich, Casey Cott and Vanessa Morgan also star.

Alexandra La Roche directed the episode written by Janine Salinas Schoenberg & Will Ewing (#319).

Riverdale Quotes

Alice: These diaries are your past, and your past is crushing you. Edgar says that...
Betty: What, Mom? What does some guru who’s running a heaven’s gate commune for pregnant runaways and wives of serial killers have to say about my diaries?
Alice: We know that you look down on the Farm, Betty. But, Edgar has done nothing but help me. He’s encouraged me to embrace everything that I was ashamed of and become the best version of myself.

Veronica: What's happening out there? Do we know? Is it about me?
Jughead: I have a strong inkling, and no. Also, I'd let it go.
Veronica: Yes, but you're you and I'm me. You do you, girl. I'll be back.
[She leaves]
Kevin: What was it like before she got here? I honestly cannot remember.
