Fox Picks Up Four New Dramas -- Get the Details Inside!

Now standing as its own entity, Fox can do what it pleases when it comes to new series pickups.

Four new dramas, a live-action comedy, and an animated comedy currently please Fox. Let's take a looks at the dramas!

A serial killer drama titled Prodigal Son, an AI drama called Next, a police drama titled Deputy, and an adaptation of Australian drama Sisters have all gotten series orders.

Deptuy Tall

Considered a good companion piece to the recently renewed Empire, sudser Filthy Rich starring Kim Cattrall is still in contention and deals are underway.

Deptuty comes from Will Beall and eOne and FOX Entertainment studios. Deputy stars Stephen Dorff and is a modern cop drama that blends the spirit of a classic Western with a modern-day attitude and gritty authenticity.

NBC Orders Bluff City Law and Sunnyside to Series

When the Los Angeles County’s Sheriff dies, an arcane rule forged back in the Wild West thrusts the most unlikely man into the job: a fifth-generation lawman, more comfortable taking down bad guys than navigating a sea of politics.

He leads a skilled team of ambitious and complicated human beings who won’t rest until justice is served.

Other stars include Yara Martinex, Brian Van Volt, Siena Goines, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses.

David Ayers directs and executive produces along with other EPs Chris Long and Barry Schindel, and producer Cedar Park.

neXt Series Photo

neXt comes from 20th Century Fox Television/Zaftig Films, FOX Entertainment and writer executive producer Many Coto.

Other executive producers include directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, and Charlie Gogolak.

Starring Mad Men's John Slattery as Paul LeBlanc, neXt is a propulsive, fact-based thriller about the emergence of a deadly, rogue artificial intelligence that combines pulse-pounding action with a layered examination of how technology is invading our lives and transforming us in ways we don’t yet understand.

A fresh take on a crime franchise with a provocative and outrageous lead character and a darkly comedic tone. Malcolm Bright knows how killers think. Why? His father was one of the best, a notorious serial killer called “The Surgeon.”

That’s why Bright is the best criminal psychologist around; murder is the family business.

Tom Payne is Malcom Bright who is joined by Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young, Lou Diamond Phillips, Halston Sage, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, and Keiko Agena.

Untitled Sisters Project at Fox

Yet untitled, the series based on Australian hit Sisters comes from writer/executive producer Annie Weisman and Universal Television in association with Endemol Shine North America, and FOX Entertainment studios.

Jason Katims, Jeni Mulein, Imogen Banks, and Sharon Levy executive produce, while executive producer Leslye Headland also directed the pilot.

A story of an unusual family formed through extreme odds, exploring such hot-button issues as identity, human connection and what it truly means to be a family.

An only child finds her life turned upside down when her father reveals that, over the course of his prize-winning career as a pioneering fertility doctor, he used his own sperm to conceive upwards of a hundred children, including two new sisters.

As these three young women slowly embrace their new reality, they will attempt to form an untraditional bond as sisters, even as they must welcome a tidal wave of new siblings into their rapidly expanding family.

The series stars Brittany Snow, Megalyn Eckikunwoke, and Emily Osment, as well as Mustafa Elzein, Mo McRae, Victoria Cartagena, and Timothy Hutton.
