The corgi's owner announced the sad news on Instagram but confirmed Stewart got one last trip to the beach before being put to sleep.

"He was a one in a million kind of dog, he was my supaah staah.”

Cheddar is one of Brooklyn Nine-Nine's most popular characters. He was known as Captain Holt's "secret weapon."

What's more, he was the ring bearer at Jake and Amy's wedding.

The role of Cheddar has been played by several corgis throughout the show's six-season run, but Stewart had the longest tenure in the role.
