Ever since Katherine Heigl bowed out of Grey's Anatomy, there have been questions about whether the actress could return.
Heigl played Izzie Stevens on the ABC hit's first six seasons, but by the time she left the series, she was not in a good place with creator Shonda Rhimes.
As such, many have wondered whether it would even be possible for Heigl to return ... even if she wanted to.
However, Heigl has revealed to Entertainment Tonight that a comeback would be "distracting" for the show's millions of fans.
"I don't know," she said.
"I don't know if I would or if I wouldn't."
"I almost feel like that would almost be distracting again to what they've done with that show in the seven years since I left... and what that's become and what it is to the fans now."
"It must feel like it would just be like, 'Yeah, we already let that go... why are you here?'"
While that certainly sounds like a no, we must stress that Heigl's character is still alive in the narrative.
The medical drama has a knack for offing beloved characters, so anything is possible if Izzie is still alive.
One person who would love to have Heigl back is Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo Karev on the series.
Jo is now married to Alex, Izzie's former love interest on the show, so we think it's fair to say there would be fireworks.
"I actually think it's kind of a fun idea," she told PeopleTV last year. "I just think, it would be juicy. It would bring out maybe a bit of drama.
For now, Heigl is wrapping up her two-season stint on USA Network's Suits and is signed on to star in, and executive produce Firefly Lane at Netflix.
