You may be heartless, Lexa, but at least you're smart.

Good can come out of even the darkest acts.

Bellamy: You're good for her. You made her strong.
Lincoln: She was already strong.

The world's been trying to turn me into a monster for as long as I can remember.

On the road to Mount Weather, Bellamy and Lincoln have an opportunity to bond. Bellamy approves of Lincoln's relationship with his sister, and Lincoln shares a telling story from his childhood about his first run-in with someone from the Ark. Meanwhile, the Grounder and Sky People alliance is on shaky ground, but it is holding together for the sake of their joint motivation to save their people trapped at Mount Weather. Camp Jaha becomes the setting for training, and the Grounders and Sky People are training together. Octavia wants to participate, but is not taken seriously by either group. Jaha employs Murphy to lead him to his son's grave. Their journey brings up tensions between the two. Jaha was responsible for sentencing Murphy's father to death on the Ark, after he stole medicine to care for his son. Jaha tells Murphy about the City of Light and insists that he is going to find it. Clarke and Lexa face off against a gorilla that appears to be unkillable. When Lexa is hurt, Clarke comes to her defense and the two manage to escape. Their experience leads them to believe that the best way to save the prisoners at Mount Weather is to infiltrate from the inside, leading Clarke to believe that Bellamy is their best bet. However, Lincoln's previous addiction to the reaper drug has made his mission into Mount Weather harder than he had anticipated. He is unable to go through with the plan and allows himself to be dosed with the drug, leaving Bellamy in the hands of the Mountain Men.
