During an outbreak in 2014, Dr. Railly fought to save lives. However, because Cole had already informed her about the plague in 2043 the previous year, she was behaving irrationally. Meanwhile, Cole located the local doctor, Henri, who assumed Cole was the enemy. He eventually came around when Cole mentioned Jennifer and the "Night Room." "I need you to tell me the location of the night room. They want to take what's in that room and they want to use it" Cole warned the man. We learn from Henri that the "Night Room" is a mobile lab and scientists that worked there were always blindfolded. However, by tracing specialized equipment used to torch the lab in case of contamination, he could locate the lab. The Pallid Man tracked Henri down in Haiti and met our time traveler for the first time. Cole left him with a scar for his trouble. The old man proved unusually strong in a fight, even against Cole who has enhanced strength due to the splinter injections. What does this mean? Unfortunately, Cole realized he could not let the Army of the 12 Monkeys acquire the valuable information Henri carried and killed him. When he returns to 2043, Cole tells the team he knows how to find the virus. However, it's not going to be easy as a group of scavs are marching toward the temporal facility in search of Cole.
