A squid demon interrupts the Scoobies' picnic in the park. Buffy slays the monster with a weapon. Xander and Willow are more concerned about seeing Cordelia and Oz at school on Monday.

Cordelia arrives back to school after her injury and the Cordettes fake interest in her. They introduce her to Anya, a new rich girl in town. Harmony plays a bad joke on Cordelia by telling her to ask Jonathan out on a date.
Willow reaches out to Oz in the hallway, but he isn't receptive to her apology. He needs space to figure things out.
Cordelia sees Xander in the hallway and pretends to make out with a boy to make Xander jealous. The popular guy rejects her since she's a "Xander Harris cast-off."
Anya comforts Cordelia in the hallway. Cordelia is ready to get over Xander; the both of them go to the Bronze for a night of drinks and guys. Xander watches Cordelia from the couch; he's jealous.
Buffy reaches out to Cordelia outside the Bronze to talk, but a vampire surprises them and attacks. Cordelia is pushed into the trash before Buffy stakes the vampire. Harmony and the Cordettes laugh at Cordelia.
Cordelia blames Buffy for all the problems in her life. She wishes Buffy never came to Sunnydale. Anya turns out to be a demon and fulfills the wish.
Cordelia wakes up in a new reality. Everyone is acting strange, like Harmony being friends again and the popular guy wanting to date her.
Harmony reveals that both Xander and Willow are dead. People are rushing to get home; there's a curfew in the town.
Cordelia walks home late at night in downtown Sunnydale. She bumps into Willow and Xander who are being affectionate with each other. Both of them are vampires.
Xander tries to kill Cordelia, but Giles arrives with a rescue vehicle. Giles, Oz, Larry, and a new girl Nancy bring Cordelia safely back to the library.
In the new reality, the Bronze has become a vampire bar, and The Master is still alive. Xander informs him that Cordelia kept mentioning bringing Buffy to Sunnydale. The Master orders them to kill Cordelia.
Cordelia informs Giles about the other reality; she urges them to bring Buffy back to save everyone. Giles is trapped inside the library cage while Xander and Willow kill Cordelia. Nancy is also killed on patrol.
Giles removes Cordelia's necklace since it looks familiar.
Angel is being held prisoner by The Master as a pet. Willow loves torturing Angel.
Giles discovers the necklace belongs to "Anyanka." A demon who is a patron saint to women; she provides wishes to scored women. Giles plans to visit Buffy and bring her to Sunnydale.
Buffy saves a group of people about to be killed by vampires.
Based on the research books, the way to stop Anyanka is to destroy her power center, which is her necklace. Buffy dismissively doesn't care about Anyanka; she's going to stop the vampires instead.
Buffy visits the Bronze and finds Angel chained to the wall.
The Master plans to open up a factory. The building is a processing plant that will drain the blood from humans into bottles. The first victim in the machine is one of Cordelia's Cordettes.
Giles conducts a spell to summon Anyanka.
Buffy ambushes the factory celebration and starts a fight. Buffy, Angel, Oz, and Larry start fighting the vampires along with the other freed human prisoners.
Angel is staked by Xander.
Xander is staked by Buffy.
Willow is staked by Oz and Larry.
Buffy fights The Master and loses. He snaps Buffy's neck.
Giles and Anyanka fight in his home. He rips off her necklace and smashes it on the counter.
The dark reality reverts back to the original timeline. Everything has gone back to normal.
