Rebecca has to wait and see if the Bar Association will let her practice law still, so she returns to work while she waits for their letter. While there she finds out that Jim now runs the pretzel stand in the lobby because he is sick of being a lawyer. She thinks he is wrong until she meets with a client and realizes she isn't happy.

She gets a job at the stand but starts to create her own recipes which corporate doesn't allow. Eventually, it is revealed that she got the letter saying she can go back to work, she is just dragging her feet. She does return and realizes that she can't do this anymore. Jim ends up going back when his stand is shut down, which Rebecca chooses to buy and make her own.

Josh tries dating again but only seems to be meeting girls who want to date the old Josh Chan or girls who just want to have sex with him. He decides that he has to stop conforming to what others want him to be and look for a relationship with someone who likes him for him. 

Meanwhile, Heather and Hector get married for the insurance but then Hector wants an actual wedding. Heather says she isn't into it so Valencia and Beth remind her that it isn't always just about her. She plans a wedding for Hector and her, to make him happy. It is at the wedding that Nathaniel realizes he loves Rebecca.
