Miles wakes up to some really troubling news on God Friend Me Season 1 Episode 3: he has lost about 50% of his podcast followers. 

He blames the steep decline on the God account because, in his mind, if he hadn't given in, he would have had his dream deal with Sirius. 

When he gets a suggestion from the account for Heavenly Taco Truck, he assembles his team, Cara and Rakesh, with the hopes of finding the person responsible for all of his troubles. 

At the taco joint, Rakesh suggests poking God on Facebook and seeing which patron reacts to their phone. 

As their attempt to lure out God, a kid sweeps by and steals Miles' wallet. 

As Miles chases the kid down, he's suggested the account of Ray Nicolette, a retired NYPD cop and private investigator. 

Cara and Miles track down Ray and try to persuade him to help them find the pickpocket. 

Ray knows they aren't giving him the full story, but he's got nothing better to do so he takes on the case. 

Cara and Miles try to find out why God sent them Ray, so they try to snoop on him, but turns out, a P.I can sniff this stuff out. 

When Ray demands the truth, they give him the full rundown of the God account. 

They pinpoint the pickpocket, Isaac's apartment, but he tells them that someone made him steal the wallet and drop it off at a specific location. 

They follow the directions to the address and find an abandoned lot. 

When Miles gets a credit card fraud notification, they realize Isaac was trying to wire money to his mother in prison. 

They return to his apartment to find cops taking Isaac away. Turns out, he's been on his own since she was arrested and wiring her money alerted the police. 

Slowly but surely, Cara and Miles put two-and-two together and realize that Ray's late wife was Isaac's social worker who worked tirelessly to keep him out of the system.

When they inform Ray that he's going to be placed into social services, Ray decides to house Isaac in his spare room. 

Meanwhile, Ali moves in with her longtime girlfriend and finally breaks the news to her religious father. 

His response: "whatever makes you happy." 

Eventually, he comes around and has a real discussion with her about "that part of her life."

He also gives Miles some sound advice about his listenership decline. 

Rakesh tries to impress Jaya with a grand gesture: singing karaoke. 

He's terrible at it, which makes Jaya like him more. 

Cara realizes people may be right about her feelings for Miles, however, when her boss tells her she might be up for a senior feature's position with all these heartwarming stories, she chooses not to pursue the relationship.
