Mariana tries to pitch an idea to the CEO after being told not to and gets in trouble with HR. She calls Callie for comfort and Callie comes to see her despite being swamped.
Callie doesn't do well at work either. She butts heads with Rebecca and with Judge Wilson for being a liberal, and he reminds her that he doesn't consider himself a conservative judge and that she won't have the influence on him she hoped to have.
She's the clerk on the case for a victim of police shooting that her new housemate Malika is an activist for,.when the judge on the case is sick and Wilson takes over. She can't reveal anything though so she is on a tough spot with Malika.
Callie and Mariana get to know the rest of the gang over "family dinner." Davi is a plus sized social media influencer, Alice is the manager and a lesbian who won't come out to her parents, and Dennis is a ladies man.
Later, thanks to Malika, they help Callie and Mariana with furniture for their room.
