Law & Order: SVU Season 20 Episode 10 revolves around two old men who had both been sexually abused as children and didn't realize the other one had too.
When first-time author Bobbi O'Rourke is murdered after a book signing, SVU suspects it might be a hate crime, as Bobbi was anatomically female and presented as male. However, the book shows that Bobbi was not transgender, but a teenage male prostitute.
The cops quickly find Bobbi's killer: a husband and father who paid for sex with a prostitute and then saw an ad for the book signing and thought he'd slept with a man. They quickly discover that Bobbi wasn't Bobbi at all -- she was a prostitute named Tammy who was paid to impersonate Bobbi because the publisher of the book never met the real author.
Fin traces the IP address that "Bobbi" used to submit the manuscript and it leads to a castle-like structure that no one ever comes out of. The cops get a warrant and find two old men, Joe and Ben, who have not left the house since 1973 and don't get along with each other. They are taken to the police station where they are confused. When DNA from blood in the house and the printed manuscript matches, Ben says he wrote the book himself. However, there's another problem: the men's mother's body is found in a cooler in their home.
Benson reads the book and realizes that Ben/Bobby was a victim of childhood sexual abuse. She goes to jail to question him while Rollins questions Joe. It turns out they were both victimized by the same older boy.
The men refuse a plea bargain and go to trial for murder, where Joe does something shocking before suffering a fatal heart attack.
