Law & Order: SVU Season 22 Episode 8 looks at the question of remorse and rape.

Two women enter the squad room, looking for Munch and Cragen. Benson remembers the case. It was 21 years ago, and the two women were then children. One sister was raped while the other was forced to watch.

Benson wants to review the file before she speaks with the women, but she is called away. Someone at Noah's school tested positive for COVID and Noah has a fever. She asks Rollins to take over the case.

The only way Rollins can get the women closure is to take them to the prison to see their rapist and tell him how they felt. The rapist denies raping them and makes racist remarks about them. Before the session is over, the prison goes into lockdown and the women are forced to wait. They begin arguing with each other about their experiences.

Meanwhile, Fin must convince a survivor to testify at her attacker's parole hearing. She reads a bunch of letters the rapist wrote and thinks he's changed, but Fin thinks the man is playing her so he can get out of jail and rape again.

And finally, when Kat's cousin reports a rape to her, Kat and Carisi butt heads over how to handle the case.
