After the Inhuman Triton is presumed dead on the island of Oahu this causes conflict within the Royal Family back at the moon. It turns out that Black Bolt, king of Attilan, had sent Triton on a secret mission to Earth.Maximus, Black Bolt's brother, doesn't agree with his king about having to hide from the humans. Black Bolt's cousin Gorgon decides to go to Earth to find Triton. But Maximus has had enough of Black Bolt's methods. He proceeds to start a coup on Attilan with the help of Auran. He goes after Queen Medusa who is Black Bolt's wife. Medusa tries to fight back with her prehensile hair against their army. But an Inhuman manages to sneak up on her and paralyzes Medusa. She begs Maximus to not go through with this but he has made up his mind. Maximus shaves off all of Medusa's hair which leaves her powerless. Her sister Crystal is alerted about Maximus's coup by Black Bolt and Gorgon's cousin Karnak. Karnak gets sent to Earth where Gorgon is thanks to Crystal's teleporting dog Lockjaw. Medusa also gets sent there while Crystal gets taken by Maximus.Maximus finds Black Bolt and tries to get his brother to surrender the throne. Black Bolt threatens to use his voice that can cause massive destruction when uttering a simple whisper. Lockjaw emerges and takes his king to Earth. Maximus takes this opportunity to lie to the people of Attilan about what is going on. Black Bolt is taken to the streets of Downtown Honolulu as he realizes that he is no longer on the moon.
