Max rushes to talk to Helen when he finds out she's been demoted. He wants to fight it but Helen doesnt know if she wants to stay at the hospital anymore. He is shocked by this.

They call a code silver and evacuate as many people and go on a lockdown because of the inmates.

Helen and Max find a woman who is injured. They treat her but Helen realizes she is one of the inmates. When max comes back with equipment to help he is being held hostage by Jackie.

One of the inmates dresses up like a scrub nurse, sneaks into the OR and stabs the witness and slices Floyds side.

Max promises to get Jackie out. Helen says she has a plan but Max doesn't know what to do. Eventually he follows her lead. She takes them to the other building and past a security guard.

When they go through doors police are there to arrest the inmates.

Max talks to Helen and tells her he understands if she wants to leave. He'll miss her but they can always spend time together. She tells him she's not leaving because she found a reason to stay.

Lauren is still wondering what happened to the pill. Zach keeps telling her she must have taken it. They're locked in with a patient who needs a procedure done and Bloom risks her leg being OK to perform it. Zach offers her a pill to get through the pain for the surgery and she declines.

Later zach confesses he took her pills more than once and he's afraid of losing her as he has everyone else.

She kisses him and tells him to never contact her again.

Evie returns to check up on Floyd after his stabbing and says she wants to move back with him. He says he wants to go to San Francisco.

Martin comes to talk to Iggy and gets trapped in a room with him and Iggy's student who he planned to give a negative review to.

She helps them talk through their marital spat and helps him understand what Martin feels. They also get to the bottom of Iggy's self esteem issues and why he feels like he has to help people to be important. The couple makes up, she gets a good review. But then she tells him that she thinks he shows signs of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Ella and Kapoor are trapped together. He helps her through her anxiety and OCD. He offers to let her move in with him, and she seems open to it now that she knows he can help her with her OCD and that she doesn't want to move to Idaho to be with her parents.
