Rizzoli & Isles Season 7 Episode 1 picks up where the story left off, with Alice Sands shooting at Jane's friends and family after Vince and Kiki's wedding. Jane and Frankie go after the shooter, but Nina is shot and Maura has a superficial head wound. Alice disappears and the shooting victims are taken to the hospital.

Frankie and Nina spend a lot of time together at the hospital while Nina is recovering. She tells Frankie she refuses to be made powerless like she was after her fiance, Marcus, was killed and he allows her to help him with the case. She also gets back to work as soon as possible.

Maura also goes back to work right away, but after a fainting spell her doctor orders a CT scan, which she doesn't take seriously until she discovers she can't remember the words "mass spectrometer." Maura finds she is more injured than she thought.

Meanwhile, Jane decides to flush Alice out by taunting her during a press conference, which gets her in trouble with the brass. After a confrontation with Alice results in another death, Jane decides she must take drastic action.
