After Courtney has an unexpected run-in with Brainwave, Pat reveals the to her he came to Blue Valley looking for the rest of the members of the Injustice Society of America.

Now that Pat knows they're in Blue Valley, he pleads with Courtney to stay out of it.

She ignores him, and things take a dangerous turn at Blue Valley High's open house night when Brainwave threatens to kill Barbara if Courtney doesn't bring him the Cosmic Staff.

Pat goes to fight Brainwave alone, again asking Courtney to not get involved.

She continues to ignore Pat, and together they are able to stop Brainwave.

After dropping Brainwave at the hospital, Courtney wants to find the remaining members of the ISA.

However, Pat is hesitant, not believing he will be of any use in this fight.

Courtney reaffirms her desire to get justice for Starman, insisting that Pat become her sidekick and fight along side her.

Elsewhere, Barbara is happy when she sees Courtney and Pat getting along, not knowing the secret they've been keeping.

She also pitches some ideas at work, which are shot down.

At the end of the episode, it's revealed the American Dream is a front for the ISA and its founder Jordan Mahkent is Icicle, the supervillain who killed Starman.
