The murder investigation into the son of a judge turns personal for Teresa when her younger brother Jimmy is a material witness. Unfortunately, Jimmy fled and the US Attorney wants Lisbon's help to find him. So she and Jane head back to Chicago to her parent's old home in the hopes that Jimmy will be there.

Teresa's right, Jimmy is there but so is an unknown man who accosts Jane before fleeing through a window. Lisbon assumes it has something to do with Jimmy's gambling but Jane soon realizes that the mystery man is connected to her brother Stan who has gotten involved with a loan shark.

Jane helps convince Jimmy to come back to Texas with them in order to catch the killer. Jimmy, Teresa, and Jane all get into the high stakes poker game where Jimmy met the victim. This time Lisbon plays amateur psychic to flush the killer out. Later, she and Patrick head back to Chicago to attend a family party. The brothers give their approval to Jane who plays with everyone's kids. Lisbon finally tells Jane she loves him.
