Elijah has visions of himself as a boy while the effects of Esther's spell linger. On The Originals Season 2 Episode 7, Klaus heads into the bayou to find an antidote for the spell. He finds that he isn't alone in the woods and is once again face to face with his father, Ansel. He reluctantly accepts his father's help when Ansel knows how to find the root he searches and Ansel forces Klaus into conversation.
Jackson provides Oliver with a werewolf burial and grows angry when none of the crescent wolves show up for the dawn funeral. Hayley tells him that their loyalty isn't dead but it is misplaced. They need an Alpha.
She and Aiden go to Marcel with a plan to take down Finn Mikaelson, but they will need Cami's help to do it. During a session, Cami pretends to be interested so that she can get closer to him. She delivers dark objects to Hayley and Marcel and the group concocts a plan to get Finn alone.
Davina continues working on her delinking spell and Esther calls Kol back to the city. During the car ride, Kol tells Davina he was a talented witch prior to being turned into a vampire. Over his 1,000 years as a vampire, he spent time with witches trying to regain his powers.
Esther wants the White Oak stake now that Mikael has returned. Kol has no desire to return it to her. Instead, he asks for Davina's help opening a tomb locked by a Claire witch. Inside are dark objects he collected over the years, one of which is a dagger which can be used to incapacitate Klaus.
While on their jazz date, Hayley attacks Cami while one of the vampires whisks her away in order to lure Finn away from the crowd. Their plan works and Finn calls Aiden for help.
During their talk, Ansel tells Klaus he has watched his son from the Other Side for 1,000 years and Klaus tells Ansel he is too late to be a father. When Ansel reveals that he knows Hope lives, Klaus believes that he must take drastic measures to protect his daughter.
