Below you will find the best finales from the 2016-17 television season.

If you don't believe us, you'll have to prove it in the comments below. We've given our reasons, now you give yours!

1. Riverdale

Riverdale! I totally didn't expect Fred to get shot, even though in retrospect it makes total sense and now I have to wait ALL SUMMER to find out whether he's going to survive and get the first clues as to who shot him. - Jack

2. Into the Badlands

Into the Badlands featured two insane, beautifully choreographed fight scenes, a tragic death, and a final scene that turned the whole future of the show upside down. Awesome! - Ron

3. Shades of Blue

There were so many twists on the Shades of Blue season finale that I may need to see a chiropractor. Nava killed Bianchi and let Harlee cover it up. Wozniak found out that Julia was so far in Bianchi’s pocket that she okayed the shooting that almost killed his son, and when the truth came out she killed herself just as she was elected mayor.

Harlee’s takedown of Stahl went all wrong and he abducted her. Before it all ended, Harlee lay bleeding on the grass in the middle of nowhere, while a child shot Wozniak who was on his way to save her. I’m still trying to catch my breath and I can’t wait for Season 3 to start! - Christine

4. Once Upon a Time

While it can be argued the plot itself echoed previous season finales, the two hours gave the audience everything we've come to love about the show over six seasons. A curse, loved ones being separated and having to fight their way back to each other, hope beating evil, and a battle for the soul of the savior. But even better than that, all the characters found their happy endings, and happy beginnings, at the end of the book. Now, it's time for a new story. - Mandy

5. Mary Kills People

I'm amazed at how fleshed out the show and the characters managed to be in such a short season. The season is less than 10 episodes. I was unsure of how she'd avoid being arrested. I loved the way it was resolved. I also like that the threat of her being arrested isn't completely gone. If they get a season two, it could be interesting because the finale set up a kick ass Death Squad with Mary at the helm. - Jasmine

6. The 100

"Praimfaya" was the best episode of the entire series. It successfully wrapped up a lot of storylines, while flawlessly laying the groundwork for The 100 Season 5. The show as we know it is over and something about that is so exciting to me. - Paul

7. The Big Bang Theory

Recurring characters are usually a fun device to throw into shows that threaten to stagnate with their set ensemble cast. Riki Lindhome's Dr. Nowitzki is no exception. She was a Yoko Ono-esque influence to the group in her previous appearance on the show and her infatuation with Sheldon pushes him into a proper autopilot escape subroutine which drives him to cross the country to propose marriage to Amy Farrah Fowler. Considering, the ring he proposes with made its first appearance in the Season 8 finale, I appreciate that TBBT is willing to commit two seasons to a long game like that. - Diana

8. Bates Motel

Bates Motel could not have had a more perfect ending. Norman needed to pay for all the terrible things he'd done, but prison wasn't the right place for him and life in a mental hospital wouldn't have been much better. He was beyond help and there really was no other ending for him than to be re-joined with Mother. That Dylan had to be the one to pull the trigger was heartbreaking, but it couldn't have ended any other way. - Stacy

9. Supergirl

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 20, “Nevertheless, She Persisted,” was an incredible finale for a less-than-average season. It definitely showed that they saved their special effects budget, and the battle between Kara and Clark, with Kara being victorious, solidified Supergirl as a hero in her own right, if that hadn’t been done already. Plus, the best line of the entire series is Cat talking about Clark being a tiger in bed, and Kara walking away saying, “Oh God, I hope Rhea kills me.” All in all, the finale was a very satisfying conclusion to the season and wrapped up the Daxam story nicely. - Jay

10. Suits

Suits Season 6 ended exactly as it should have, with Mike passing the bar and preparing to be a legitimate lawyer. What made that extra special is that he had a little help from an old friend – surprise visit from Jessica Pearson. - Ashley

11. The Leftovers

The Leftovers Series Finale had exactly the right context. It answered questions, but maybe it didn't. It was left up to the viewer and their faith in the characters to determine what was real and what wasn't, and that's exactly what the series proposed in its entirety. I couldn't have asked for more. - Carissa
