The 100: 9 Season 5 Moments Convincing Us of a Bellarke Romance

at .  Updated at .

Fans of Clarke and Bellamy have not had it easy over the past five years. Every time things were finally looking up for the two something ended up getting in their way. We can't argue that countless separations and six years apart are likely to hinder any relationship.

It's been a very slow burn to say the least, and as someone who's been a fan of the show since it first started airing, I think it's safe to say that while we were prepared to wait for them, no one expected the wait would be this long.

Bellamy and Clarke have been tip-toeing the line between friends and something more for the entirety of the series and it's left fans begging for these two to finally admit their feelings for each other and just get together already.

Even though the timing has never been quite right for a romance between them before, it seems like this season may be finally delivering on what we've all been waiting for.

While we're still holding out to see what happens in the next couple weeks, we've put together nine moments from The 100 Season 5 that make us believe a Bellarke romance may finally be in the works.

And remember you can see Bellamy and Clarke in all their glory by watching The 100 online right here on TV Fanatic!

1. When Clarke Sees Bellamy Kiss Echo on "Shifting Sands"

The camera work in this scene was definitely trying to tell us something. Bellamy and Echo's kiss was blurred out while the camera focused on Clarke's face. She went from literally shining with joy after being reunited with Madi to looking at the two with a confused and disheartened expression.

2. When Diyoza Assumes Clarke is Bellamy's Girlfriend After Watching Them Interact on "Pandora's Box"

After observing just how far Bellamy would go for Clarke, Diyoza assumed Clarke was his girlfriend without a second thought. Out of all the seasons of The 100, this is the first time that anyone has acknowledge outright that Bellamy and Clarke could be in a romantic relationship. And yup, that means something.

3. When Clarke and Bellamy Share a Pretty Intimate Hug on "Pandora's Box"

For some reason, the intimacy level of this hug felt pretty different from all their previous ones. The fact that they hadn't seen each other in 6 years probably plays a part in it, but it is pretty interesting that this hug recently won a "Sexiest Moment" award when it was up against other couples who had actual kisses and sex scenes. If their hug is this intimate, I can't even imagine what their first kiss will be like.

4. When Bellamy Verbalizes Clarke's Importance to Him on "Sleeping Giants"

Hearing Bellamy say out loud just how much Clarke meant to him felt like a step in the right direction. When Bellamy made it clear that he would sacrifice the lives of hundreds in order to save Clarke, Diyoza and the rest of her people saw firsthand just how important Clarke is to him.

5. When Clarke Radios Bellamy Every Day for 6 Years And Keeps it a Secret from Him on "Shifting Sands"

There's no way that these radio calls are never going to be brought up again. Clarke even stated herself that talking to Bellamy every day kept her sane. When Bellamy asked her how she kept going, she hesitated and told him that she had Madi before abruptly ending the conversation and walking away. While yes, Madi was obviously a huge part of her survival, the fact that she's keeping something a secret that was such a big part of her life for the past 6 years feels fishy. It's bound to come out eventually and it feels like there's a reason why it hasn't yet.

6. When Bellamy Finds Out Clarke is Alive on "Sleeping Giants"

As beautiful as Bellamy's reaction was, maybe I should be focusing on everyone else's reaction. Like how Madi immediately picked Bellamy out of the crowd because Clarke knew he would come for her. Or how everyone's eyes instantly went to Bellamy upon the realization.

7. When Clarke Sees Bellamy Kiss Echo 2.0 on "Exit Wounds"

In all four seasons of The 100, this is the first time we actually get to see Clarke observe Bellamy in a relationship. While she hasn't vocalized her feelings about it, it's very clear from her multiple reactions that she's not exactly thrilled. Everything in television is thought out and has a specific reason to be there. I don't know about you, but it seems to me that these shots are an example of that at its finest.

8. When Octavia Accuses Bellamy of Loving Clarke on "How We Get to Peace"

Obviously, this was our biggest tip-off about a romance between Bellamy and Clarke potentially happening. Clearly, Octavia does not hold back, and she outright stated that Echo wasn't the only "traitor" Bellamy loved. And by outright stated I mean outright stated. She left no room for questions or concerns. Now I don't want to say that Octavia knows best because she clearly has been making quite a few rash decisions this season, but judging from Bellamy's facial expression it seems like she hit the nail right on the head.

9. When the "Heart and the Head" Dynamic is Emphasized on "Shifting Sands"

The "heart and the head" has been a huge part of Bellamy and Clarke's dynamic since day 1. You can't live without both of them working together in unison. Clarke has always been the one to make the rational decisions and Bellamy has always let his heart run the show. Now that the roles are reversed, it makes us wonder if there's a reason for its continued emphasize. Is it possible that Bellamy's using his head because he left his heart on the ground 6 years ago? Only time will tell.
